Do you think it unwise of Obama to leave the campaign trail?

With only 2 weeks left, he's going to see his grandmother. I personally think he is doing the right thing and taking care of family. It just shows me how important his family is to him and that is an admirable quality.

Although I am not an Obama supporter, it was the right thing for him to do. Plus his wife is going to stand in for him.

Everyone feels this way just by the answers given which means the entire country is thinking the same way. It won't hurt him at all, if anything, it will do him good because the nation can see how important family is to him. That's what the people want.

second time he left the trail for her

    first time was a week

    hopefully she is doing well...

and frankly, if my mother was falling very ill and I was on the verge of presidency...

no contest, I would be at Moms side....can run again in 4 years, but Mom is all I got in the mom catagory...some things simply do not matter when the "real stuff" happens.

Family values before political strategy. Our common ability to love transcends lines and unites our diversity.

At this point in the race, I don't think it will hurt him, but it certainly gives McCain a chance to dominate the news all by himself. In his book, Obama on of his biggest regrets was not being at his mother's bedside when she was dying. I doubt he wants to repeat that same mistake for his grandma who raised him and gave up everything for him. 14 days before the elections if someone is not voting for Obama, I don't think he can change his/her mind. So he did the right thing

He is doing the right thing. His grandmother was his foster mother for a lot of his childhood and he may not see her again if she dies.

Already saw some posts saying he is going there to cover up his birth certificate "scandal." They are so desperate.

He is going to Hawaii. He cares about family. Yes, it is admirable but could also be said, by haters, as strategic.

    Much respect for Obama 08

once you ask if this is a "stable concept", the easy root of the goodness is that's no longer in certainty an "concept" in any respect, it particularly is an instant reaction to kinfolk affairs. that's what makes him the charismatic man or woman who he's. he's responding in a organic way. we've all had those pivotal moments in our lives as quickly as we could discard what we predict of is critical and concentration on the those that have nurtured and formed us and then while the time comes, if it particularly is handy or no longer concentration on kinfolk. i delight in this approximately him because of fact it particularly is not staged, calculated or political. this is a organic reaction, an unrealized gamble, and he's doing what comes evidently, regardless of the end result may well be.

It's bad for his campaign but first things first.

It unfortunately looks like he's about to lose his grandmother who raised him. I would put off anything to be with my mother in a similar circumstance.

i think it is right thing to do ,he is caring for his family and even at such a crucial time it is important to take care of ones family,so im sure his visit to his grandma will cheer her up and im sure he will be right back campaigning etc as soon as he can

i think that most americans are family oriented and i think this will only help him because i want my president to know that grandma is more important than the campaign trail
