What's next for Palin? Will she run for governor again?
It looks like Palin will go back to Alaska with a big mess on her hands with her popularity sinking with the locals. So what's next for Alaska's maverick?
Have you seen the electoral college vote counts? I'm not talking about the popular vote counts. He's up around 340 while McCain has about 170. I don't think Kerry was ever this down on electoral votes. And let's be realistic... McCain doesn't have a realistic chance. And Palin will probably find her base with the core Republican base but I honestly think her 15 minutes of fame is over and she'll be a footnote in U.S. politics.

I think I found all of McCain's supporters, they are all answering this question. But seriously with her being in the spotlight, Alaska gets to see what she is really all about. Her approval rating is steadily dropping, and she abused power, used government money to sleep in her own bed. The Democrats might take Alaska. She can work at Fox News though, that's for sure.
(By the way, Obama will still win, because of the Electoral College)

Her popularity is still above 65% which most US governors would kill for.
The chances are still about 50/50 that she will be VP.
There's still two weeks to go.
Don't count McCain out.
Both Gore and Kerry were further ahead than Obama is now and McCain is on an upward trend at just the right time.
If they lose, Palin has a terrific future in the GOP which absolutely loves her.
She can run again for Alaska governor in 2 years and probably be head of the Republican Governors Association which is a very powerful position.
She might even go for the head of the National Governors Association which is even better.
If Ted Stevens is acquitted, he may well be re-elected and she could be the heir apparent for his Senate seat in 6 years or if he dies/resigns before then.
Or she could knock off Sen.Lisa Murkowski, just like she beat Murkowski's father for the gov's office.
Even though the Democrats tried to tear her apart, any good politician who fails to see her appeal is an idiot who should get out of politics.
Part of the reason they tried to kill her was her skill.
Whatever she does, Palin has a bright future.
She's a natural politician and is beloved by tens of millions.
The best comparison?
Huey Long, the Gov. of LA, and Senator in the 1930s, who most people thought could be president, until he was assassinated.
The fancy NE elites dismissed him too.
Sarah will be VP or she'll be back.

notice that only one (Lon dong) gave some ACTUAL INFORMATION??
not just opinion?
Alaska is rightfully angry at what has been shown by Palin's conduct, and that does not mean just the campaign.
Pretty much contempt for Alaska when McCain's gang tried to stop a valid investigation.
both Palin personally AND the state are possible targets of a wrongful firing lawsuit from Monegan.
At this point, we can just PRAY that Americans don't fall for her main talent which is mudslinging and character attacks.

Odds are that she will probably become prominent in the far-right conservative machine, which will probably split from the Republican Pary after this election since I think many Republicans are becoming disturbed with some of the radical views held by people like Palin. Besides, after she's recalled in Alaska, real politicians won't want anything to do with her.

be careful! John Kerry was way up in the polls (double digits) a couple of weeks before the election and looked like he would cruise to an easy win, and he LOST.
Obama was way ahead in the polls the day of the NH primary a few months back, and wound up LOSING to clinton by 4%!

well I'm assuming she'll definately try and join the cast of desperate housewifes.
I doubt she wants to return to alaska, considering only a few hundred people live there.. what a horrible existence.. maybe a polar bear will run against her and win... the governor spot

she will still be Alaska's governor and then be reelected by a huge majority in 2010. 2012 she will be the Republican nominee for President and she will crush Obama. She will give this country the true reform and honestly it needs.

I don't think she should run for Governor again, her numbers are way down in Alaska now.
