BAD puppy breath!? Any tips/ideas to get rid of it?

I have a shih tzu puppy... and her breath stinks, has been for a few weeks now.

She just was at the vet about 5 days ago to get fixed, and at the consultation the vet looked her over for any other abnormalities, and everything appeared fine, even her teeth...

so why does she have such bad breath? Is there anything i could do, anything i can buy to get rid of her stinky puppy breath? I do have lots of chew toys, and also those dentabone things, but those dont seem to help with the breath...

Thanks :)

Update:

She will not let me get near her with a tooth brush... tried it many times..

Her breath hasnt been THIS bad, when i first got her, her breath wasnt stinky at all..

I've had a fecal test done not too long ago, as well as treated for works...

She is very very well behaved, and doesnt get into things she shouldnt, like the garbage, they're all in cubboards and doesnt even know they exsist...

I am thinking about changing her diet? any suggestions on a good, quality food?

Shes a 6 mo. shih tzu

Update 2:

OH YES! she is loosing her puppy teeth, there are still a few more that need to come out...

All puppies have bad breath. You might be able to get rid of it by brushing them but otherwise your going to have to live with it. Also bone can be bad for dogs! if they swallow a piece to big they can choke.

If there really is no other underlying cause related to her health, you could try to change her diet. Some types of dog food (especially canned food) can give dogs really bad breath. Also, you may want to consider how many times a day do you feed her, as hunger can lead to acid build-up, causing bad breath. Also, make sure there's always plenty of water around. And though she may not get near garbage, some dogs will eat their own feces (again, this may be related to problems in her diet).

My dog eats a mixture of natural food (rice, chicken and veggies) and Nutro Natural Choice dry food (small bite kind for small dogs). I also recommend Royal Canin and Eukanuba.

In the meantime, if you think the problem is related to her baby teeth...maybe you can start spraying her mouth a chlorhexidine solution prescribed by your vet.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU49H

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

If she is losing puppy teeth, the breath can be REALLY bad due to the smell of the blood in the mouth. That is usually 5-6 months.

All puppies have "puppy breath", it will change as your pup matures. It's not the same as "dog breath". If it's really bad, you probably need to brush her teeth or maybe change her food.

You should have the vet do a fecal sample she may have intestinal worms they cause very bad breath in dogs also gooey eyes and bloated tummy's in pups

Ask your vet about changing her diet. What is she eating?
