Any bird watchers or ornithologists out there? I saw a most unusual bird the other day.?

I'm wondering what it might be. It had white and black stripes like a zebra, and it was larger than a sparrow, but smaller than a robin. I live in the United States in the midwest, and this was undoubtedly a tropical bird, and not indigenous to the area. Has anyone ever seen a bird with this unusual coloration?

A black and white warbler perhaps?

They are indigenous to the US though.

Wow!Really?Cool! So I don't know what it is, but you can look on a book at a library, I didn't help much did I? Yeah, well. In case try to look for it some other times, and see where it's nest are, everyday, you can climp up the tree to see what's it doing, it might fly away, but try it several times, it will get used to you, now when It did, do some research to find more about it, when you did knows alot about the specie, you can go to www.medhelp.com ,It was mostly for adult, but it is safe, there's just about things you'd like to ask, so I guest they have more experience than me, it didn't work, then beats me

It was probably a Downy Woodpecker, which is very common.A lot of woodpeckers have "zebra stripes."
