Do you think it is wrong that the RNC is spending so much on Palins family?

Sara Palin has been quoted as saying"Those clothes are not my property, they belong to the RNC,They will be returned or donated to charities". In reports the RNC spent $75,062 at Neiman Marus, $49,425 at Saks Fifth Ave., $4,902 at Atelier( men's store) and $92 for an infant romper. How can anyone justify spending that much money on clothing?

Update:

I'm not saying right or wrong I was just wondering how people felt about it. I don't see why so many people are getting mad at me. Also to add would anyone even notice if this was a man.

If the RNC want to spend that $$$ on her, so be it but I find it funny that the same people defending it are the same people who complained about John Edwards $400 haircut. This is a non issue to me since she won't be the next VP anyway & since she doesn't know what the job entails, I have moved on

The party can spend it on whatever they want. And they want a VP candidate that looks presentable. If they'd not spent it and she was wearing some knock off outfits, people would be complaining about that. It's a no win argument or situation.

Do I personally think it was a ridiculous waste? Yep.

Do I care or think that it has ANY sway in the election, or is even newsworthy? Nope.

The only thing I find interesting about the story is that there was some story the other day, supposedly from the designer for much of Hillary Clinton's wardrobe, who said that they were surprised Palin paid at all and that lots of designers donate clothes to the campaign. Even if it is an excessive $150k, I'd rather have a politician paying for clothes (or anything for that matter) rather than getting freebies. Other than that tidbit, I really don't care about ClothingGate '08.

Fact is that they have no choice.

If the things that the v.p. nominee needs are donated, then the ticket is in violation of campaign ethics laws.

What is so funny is that the liberal socialist democrats have been getting all those things donated and not declaring them as campaign contributions or personal income. In either case, they are in violation of ethics laws.

And what is even more funny, the media will do thorough investigations into the GOP ticket, but not a finger lifted to investigate the liberal socialist democrat party. Fairness at its best!

No. That is up to the RNC, just like it is up to the DNC or Obama's campaign fund regarding the horrific amount of money that has been spent on Michelle and Obama's wardrobes, along with the jet plane, 500,000 in food and a 400+ bill at the Walforf Astoria for lobster and caviar for little old Michelle for a snack.

The Democrats are just as bad or don't you care about them? Atleast the clothes can be donated to charities. How about Nancy Pelosi spending Thousands for flowers to put in her office? Both sides are just as guilty.

Fact is Obama is going to run all of us into financial ruin. That should be the biggest concern for every American not what lies the liberal media is spreading about Palins cloths.

Fear for you hard earned dollar because Obama has plans to spend us into a third world country.

If the clothes belong to the RNC why didn't tell america that they where buying the clothes in the first place. Beside the money she spent was from the tax payer all except Joe the Plumber who doesn't pay taxes.

Not so much wrong as stupid.

One Palin outfit cancels out one "Joe the Plumber" and two "I'll clean up Washingtons".

More importantly it shows McCain's lack of management skills and strategic ability.

McCain's "dog and pony show" campaign is just a glimpse of what his "three-ring administration" would look like.

If I had that money to spend I would.

It is the NRC money not your, if they want to buy a million toy boats that is up to them, can we tell you were you can spend and what to buy?

Sweetheart if anyone should be p*ssed, it isn't you. Unless of course you voluntary contributed to the campaign. Did you?

Source(s): jazzy, why didn't the DNC give you a jingle to tell you they were picking up a pack of Marlboro Lights for Obama? GET. REAL.
