They are seeds. BUT if the mums were hybrids sold for their spectacular flowers the seeds will not give the same special blooms as you had this year.

By the way, it is VERY easy to raise mums from cuttings. Snip some cuttings from the top of the plant in the late spring or early summer. Dip in Rootone, plant in good soil, keep watered. You have yourself a new healthy plant!

Rich is correct - if you were hoping for self-seeded plants that might not happen. Happily though, perennial mums can be easily propagated by division.
