I went to see Gov. Palin today & found that she's nothing like she's been presented by the media...?

I wanted to see for myself exactly what kind of person Gov. Sarah Palin was compared to what the biased media has made her out to be. I feel that I am NOW an EXPERT on HER as I spent about 41/2 hours with HER, TODD, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, one of the co-hosts of the show, "The View", along with our State Gov., & others. She's a EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE WOMAN on ALL ASPECTS of Government! She was on TOP of EVERY ? on TAXES, the ECONOMY, FOREIGN AFFAIRS, ENERGY POLICIES, & our FINANCIAL CRISIS! Has anyone else on here done research to find out these SAME FACTS HER that the MEDIA SEEMS SO DETERMINED TO NOT BRING OUT ABOUT HER?

As I'm a REGISTERED DEMOCRAT, I was VERY CORDIAL, but VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD in my questions to HER!

Update:

I want to know what y'all think about her compared to what the BIASED. LYING MEDIA SPOUT ABOUT HER!! Because she is definitely NOT AS THEY PORTRAY HER!

Update 2:

CALDWOOD: If you could only see the REAL SARAH PALIN, & NOT the 1 WHO'S GIVEN a SCRIPTED SPEECH for TV, YOU would be AMAZED & AWED!! I think that McCain, & the RNC knew exactly what they were doing when they chose her, but there's STILL SOME HANDLERS that JUST WON'T ALLOW HER TO BE HERSELF IN PUBLIC! That's what, at times, makes her appear nervous, shaky, etc.

Today, when I saw her, she was SO RELAXED, & seemed as if she'd FINALLY TAKEN HER OWN REINS in HER HANDS, & WAS STEPPING OUT in PUBLIC AS THE REAL SARAH PALIN! She DID NOT HOLD BACK on SUBJECTS that it seems she'd been forced to hold back on before! Did you realize that HER VIEWS on MANY of the REPUBLICAN PLATFORM ISSUES are WELL OFF CENTER of THEIRS? PLEASE, ALL of YOU! STOP LISTENING TO THE MEDIA! I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE REP'S. CHOSE McCAIN IN THE 1ST PLACE, & I would have DEFINITELY "MADE HIM UP BETTER FOR TV" than those in charge have! I would have chosen Palin for PRES.;~) NOW!

Update 3:

I think everyone keeps forgetting that she's a WIFE & MOTHER, & I'm here to tell you that in itself GIVES a woman MORE KNOWLEDGE than a MAN WILL EVER KNOW!!

I think there is, unfortunately, a lot of truth to what you say, but there is also some hard truth in what Caldwood and Carl say, about Palin being a great person who just is hard to sell to the more middle of the road voters that McCain needs to get elected. Why cut off the nose to spite the face. It looks like McCain will probably lose, and there is a good chance the loss will hurt Pain's chances to run later just because whe was pushed into a no win situation this year. Now was not the time for her to run for national office.

Trust me they are afraid of her. I did a poll question and out of about 25 answers, about 80% put her first as the most qualified, due to her experience. I did laugh as some of the answers would you know put McCain or her 1 or two and then Obama and Biden like 99 and 101 and vice versa. But she has to know what to do and she has over an 80% approval and that's hard for any governor. As far as being a woman they bring us in the world, raise us and if we have a crummy father they work and sometimes two jobs, so yo are right she has the edge.

I trust the Clinton people are mad enough to sink Obama and vote this ticket. I cannot see many of them voting for something they wouldn't believe in and all the radical stuff that hijacked their party. We will see. By the way not sure if lyou watched the Tenn vs Indy Monday night football game, but i am pretty sure they said that Elvis was there, no joke and i saw him also. Ha. Take care.

Sara Palin is a good person and seems to be a good governor. But the ease with which she would be attacked by much, though certainly not all, of the media was very predictable as was the harm that would be done to McCain's chances to win. It's not only the left wing part of the media and the public that has reacted negatively to Palin. So too have a lot of the progressive conservatives and the moderate Democrats, whom McCain needs to win. She appeals mostly to the right wing base of the Republican party, which will vote for McCain anyway. So picking her hurt those of us who hoped McCain would not suck up so hard to the right wing element and would instead try to lead all of us conservatives, of all sorts, to victory. Unfortunately, he seem to have blown the chance. Darn it! Darn it! Darn it! Now we may be stuck with Obama for eight years. Liberman or someone more to the centrer than Palin would have helped so much.

I agree that what the media is portraying is nothing like the reality of Sarah Palin. I met Gov. Palin at the Alaska Republican Convention, and was extremely impressed with her ideas, and her attitude. She has personal opinions, but doesn't let them interfere with her ruling, contrary to what is being portrayed. I think many moral-conservatives would not be happy with the REAL Palin, because she has upheld rights for same sex couples here in Alaska. The media has decided that they want Obama, and are doing everything they can to put on the cutting room floor the Palin those of us in Alaska know.

Her record speaks for her. She actually has experience that none of the other candidates have. Most men who have become president were governor's first. I respect her and do not believe the media about anything anymore. I too am a democrat, but voting for McCain/Palin.

I'm with you. I was excited about Sarah from the first announcement. She was born in Sandpoint, ID. (my home town and current residence) but her candidness and track record as a Governor make me excited about an election that until her entry lacked any excitement for me.

I am sick and tired of the left wing media distorting the facts and purposely lying about a person who will do a great job of representing the people of our country.

I have loved her since the first day she was announced! In fact she is the one that caused me to get excited over McCain- who wasn't my first choice. I think she is awesome, smart, & would make a fantastic vice president and President! I hope that you will think hard as a registered democrat and make the best choice when you do vote. It is nice to see a Dem for a change give her a chance and to actually go see for yourself instead of letting the MSM dictate how you should vote. Star for you!

The medias doesn't look at ones track record it looks at what party the person belongs to first. Then it looks at what they can smear if the person is a Republican or what they can cover up or spin for the Democrats.

I agree with the assessment of David Brooks, a conservative, in the tradition of Barry Goldwater and William F. Buckley, who today in his column said of Gov. Palin: "And there was Sarah Palin, who represents the old resentments and the narrow appeal of conventional Republicanism."

As Books points out, McCain, in many ways, has missed a real chance to redefine and to really lead the Republican Party in to the future. One such way is his selection of Palin, a good, intelligent, and decent woman, but too representative of the divisiveness of much that has become associated with the Republican party in recent years.

Thanks for asking, but I don't expect you to agree with me. But I hope you recognize that like Brooks, a long time conervative and Republican stalwart, others on the right, like me, can see Palin's selection as a mistake for reasons that do not involve lying or spouting.

One reason I speak out, and why I think Brooks speaks out, is that we think that picking Palin made it much harder for McCain to become our next president, and we think he would be a good president.
