My xbox broke...again!!!?
My xbox got the red ring of death (three flashing red lights) for the second time.
I called customer support and am sending in again but i wonder:
If this is happening again, will it happen a third time?
and should i just get a ps3 insstead??

After the first time it's sent in, Xbox sends you a "coffin" by 2nd Day Air, to speed up the process, that way instead of 6 weeks, it'll take MAYBE a week. Also, you get a month of Xbox LIVE Gold free!
Since both your 1-yr and 3-yr warranty restarts with every new console, it'll never cost you a cent to send it in!
You could save up for a PS3, or you could wait a week, and get a new 360 for FREE!
Source(s): I sent in my Xbox 360 three times, luckily the 4th Xbox 360 is doing great. - 1 decade ago
The amount of xbox 360's you return and receive will not guarantee that you will never see those red rings again. Although, with a newer system you are much less likely, since the problem has been officially recognized, newer systems now have better heat syncs. Plus there is a 3 year warranty where the red rings are involved, so even though its frustrating to have to wait the 2-3 weeks, especially for two or more times, it does not have to be paid for.
As for the PS3, this is totally up to you (obviously). It depends on many things, such as, are you interested in it, or is it just a quick fix solution for not having to send in your xbox? You should determine what each system can offer, and which you would be satisfied with.
Source(s): I have sent in my xbox recently to get fixed, I have about another week or two to wait. However, I am borrowing a friends ps3, and as much as I love it, I would not think twice about replacing my xbox entirely. - 1 decade ago
Yes, it will probably happen again. My boyfriend has had non-stop issues with his, and he finally broke down and bought a membership to a site that has repair videos so he could learn to fix it himself. It's broken once since then and he fixed it and was back up and running later that evening. You can see some reviews of repair sites here:

Hope that helps! Xbox360's may have great games, but they can be so irritating!
