An interesting thing about polls...?

If you look at the trends of most polls you will the same basic thing going back to the RNC. McCain came out of the RNC with a small lead and as the financial crisis has developed, most polls show a trend toward Obama - even in "red" states that McCain is likely to carry.

It's one thing to call into question the results of any one specific poll for any one period of time. But when most major polls are showing the same thing over a period of time, it tends to suggest the polls are basically accurate.

What concerns me about the polls is the media puts so much emphasis on them, they may actually influence some people not to vote because they believe their vote won't make a difference or the election is rigged or already decided.

Yeah. I remember when polls were spot-on accurate when Bush had approval ratings of over 80%.

Those same polls, showing less than 30%, were suddenly "biased" and "not credible".

It's funny. Sad, really.

polls are done via scientific method

that is why there is a margin of error

I ignore polls with a m/e over 3%

You get more accurate expectations that way
