  • Help Identifying Kung Fu comedy from late 70s or 80s?

I am trying to identify a Kung Fu comedy. It was on HBO in the 80s. I remember a specific scene that I thought was really funny. The asian main character was in the inner city and encountered a gang. He pulled out a "jive translation manual" and started talking jive to the gang. One of the gang members said "What did you say about my mama?" And another gang member said "No man, I know where he's coming from" I also remember that the main character was supposed to throw a fight at the end, but then was told it was ok to win and knocked the opponent out in a ring. Anyone know this movie?

  • Challenge: Explain the seemingly contradictory results. (i.e. find the error)?

    Sum (n = 1 to infinity) of

    ln [ n / (n+1) ]

When summing explicitly as written, we get:

ln(1/2) + ln(2/3) + ln(3/4) + ln(4/5) + ... we can see that the upper bound of the sum is ln(1/2) and that the sum should become more negative as we add smaller and smaller terms.

However, let's write it another way:

    ln [ n / (n+1) ] = ln n - ln(n+1)

    So we get:

    [ln1 - ln2] + [ln2 - ln3] + [ln3 - ln4] + [ln4 - ln5] + ....

    Use associative property of addition:

    ln1 + (-ln2 + ln2) + (-ln3 + ln3) + (-ln4 + ln4) + (-ln5 + ln5) + ...

    = ln 1 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + ....

    = ln1

    = 0

  • Why does anyone support Romney?

There is tons of video out there of Romney saying one thing to one camera and then the complete opposite to another camera. If Obama was smart, he would make use of all that footage to show Romney as the flip flopper he is.

  • Star Trek Wrath of Khan in Theaters (Original Release)?

Does anyone remember seeing this in theaters? 3 members of my family could swear that just before Khan died, he was laying on the ground, saw the Enterprise streak away at warp speed, looked dismayed and then died. The scene does not appear on any of the DVDs or video tapes of the movie, but the three of us are fairly certain it was in the original theatrical release. Does anyone else remember this, or are we just wishfully thinking?

  • Delay Emptying Hotmail Folders?

Recently, when I click on empty for the deleted or junk mail folders, there is a delay of about 10 to 15 seconds before it prompts me to confirm the empty. Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know what might be causing it?

I use Internet Explorer 8 to access Hotmail.

  • Should I be suspicious?

I got a DIVX codec from a site recommended by

    www.wmplugins.com

Microsoft referred me to the wmplugins site which has a link to get the DIVX codec.

Anyway, I was visiting the online website for my credit card to pay my balance and one of the information bars came up stating that the website wanted to run the DIVX plugin and asked permission to run it. I denied permission of course, but I can't help but wonder why the bank that issues my credit card would have any need to run a DIVX plugin since that is a video related issue.

Should I be suspicious that this so called legit codec is attempting to keylog me or something?

  • Internet Explorer Error On Yahoo Ads?

Lately, I have been getting a lot of internet explorer error messages on Yahoo pages. Usually they are associated with trying to load some sort of ad. The error states that internet explorer could not load a web page or something like that. I am not really that concerned about seeing the ads, but having the error message pop up constantly is kind of annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this with the Yahoo web pages?

  • Vets: Was this incompetence and am I entitled to a refund?

I recently took my cat to the vet because she was vomiting a lot. The vet recommended doing an X-Ray. She said the X-rays indicated there was fluid build up in my cat's abdomen. She then recommended an ultrasound procedure. I made the mistake of feeding my cat about 8 hours before the ultrasound procedure, but I told the vet that several times before the ultrasound and expressed concern that the food would interfere with a good reading. I asked if we should wait for a couple days to let the food clear out of my cat's system. The vet wanted to go ahead with the ultrasound anyway. She said that the ultrasound showed there was no fluid in the abdomen but she was fairly certain there was a blockage in the lower stomach and upper intestine. I asked again if this blockage could be food and she said no. Then she recommended exploratory surgery to find out what the blockage was. I trusted her opinion that there was indeed a blockage and decided that if nothing was done, my cat would definitely die from the obstruction. So I went ahead with the surgery. Here is the kicker. The surgeon said there was no blockage there. In fact, it seems there was nothing wrong with my cat at all. No cancer, nothing. Am I right to assume that this was, at best, incompetence and, at worst, a scam?

  • Who saw Family Guy tonight?

I could not stop laughing at that scene where New Brian told Stewie he humped Rupert. I was laughing so hard for about 5 minutes straight. I am still laughing about it.

  • Was Nancy Pelosi Reelected?

I hope not. She opposed impeachment hearings. She was a large part of the reason that Bush is going to get off scott free with all of his crimes.

Hopefully, with Obama as president, the Democrats that allowed themselves to be bullied by Republicans will remember what they are supposed to stand for and not cave in. Those that do cave in should be kicked out in favor of a real Democrat or a third party candidate.

  • A question about vet charges...?

Is it normal to pay 95 dollars for two X-Rays? What about 180 dollars for an ultrasound?

  • Something they never ask you to do in a calculus class...?

    1. Using the limit definition of the derivative, prove that the derivative of e^x is in fact e^x

    2. Using the limit definition of the derivative, prove that the derivative of ln(x) is in fact 1/x

No, you may not cheat and use L'Hospital's Rule as that involves derivatives.

    3. Explain why L'Hospital's rule works

  • An interesting thing about polls...?

They are accurate when one's candidate is winning and inaccurate when one's candidate is losing.

    Kind of funny....

Seriously, though, I think the polls are rigged. How else would the news keep things exciting 24 hours a day if the polls didn't show a neck and neck race like they have been the past 3 elections. Neck and neck polls make for more exciting news coverage which translates to better ratings which translates to more money.
