By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world.?

www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=17251522662&ref=share

The first Crusade began in 1095… 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443

after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople, 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians.By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world.

How dare anyone say defending against all this was unjustified?

Update:

how long did america endure attacks before it retaliated?.and the crusaders never even entered a muslim country.of course there were rogue armies who even attacked other christian cities, led by less than christian war lords of the time.so what, even today nothing has changed there.it was a remarkable feat of self defence for the time.

The crusades against muslims may be justified to an extent but what about the inquisitions? Were they justified? What did the native americans, the Hindus, the aztec, the aborigines do to deserve such a fate!

The Crusades, along with other "Christian v. Islam" wars, were far more complicated, often with allegiances between different Christian and Muslim groups. For example, the Muslim conquest of Spain, which took place in a rather politically opportunistic manner, and the following Reconquista was a rather long, drawn out affair with several switches of allegiances. The seige of Antioch in the Crusades, carried out by Christian invaders, inflicted heavy fatalities on the Christian population there. There were also contemporary movements in the church to end conflict.

Remember, the past was just as complicated and messy as today.

The only people who care about the Crusades are the Muslims, and that is how America tricked them into this little spat in the desert now.

The only people who think the war is about religion are the Arabs, and that is because they have been manipulated by the US Government.

Is America really stupid enough to risk global catastrophe over religion? I don't think so. They are however greedy enough to risk it all for money and oil.

Assalamualaikum (peace be with you) brothers n sisters. Brother, first of all, the periods that u mentioned r wrong, n then secondly, where did u get it from that Christians were killed, enslaved n converted by foce? Bring forth ur proofs. We Muslims dont want ur forcefully converted people, we wont do it at any cost. Coz its forbidden in Islam to do so. The Holy Prophet's (Salla ALLAHU Alaihi Wa Sallam) own beloved uncle died as a non believer, n he was never forced to believe. Then how come that we force others. N tell the history the way it happened, not the way that u feel good n not guilty in. It was the crusades that ruined everything, they killed Mulisms wherever they found them, slayed them, raped their women, prevented them from worshipping n practicing Islam. Muslims ruled over Spain for 800 years, n yet there were people who were coptic Christians, n they were allowed freely to worship n practice their own Faith. If u believe that Islam was spread by the sword, then name the Muslim army that attacked Indonesia (The country with the largest number of Muslims), name the army that right now is converting thousands every year in the USA, n the entire west. Leave what happened then, talk about now. Is it we attacking u or u attacking us? N when we defend ourselves, we r terrorists, right? Do u know that the Father of the Nation (USA) George Washington, was called as a terrorist by the British of the time? But now he's the Father of the Nation. Bhagat Singh of India was called a terrorist, by the British of the time who invaded India? But now he is called as a martyr legend n a freedom fighter who fought to free his land from the invaders n lost his life over it.

N have u heard the name Nelson Mandela? Do u know what had happened to him? IF no then search on him, n if yes, Then tell me who was it that called him a terrorist n prisoned him for 28 years? Muslims, right? N when recently when Denmark n some other countries insulted us, u said that its "Freedom of Expression". Fine, but when we boycotted their products, u said that this is extremism. Was the "Freedom of Expression" thing meant to be for the west to insult us? Wasnt our boycotting our "Freedom of Expression". U attack our countries, kill millions, ruin everything, rob its treasures, n call it "Freedom of Expression", but when we defend ourselves n countries, then we r terrorists. Hmmmmm.....cool. Just going on insulting others n torturing n killing them under the innocent n beautiful made-to-look flag of "Freedom of Expression" wont help u. U know, I have n idea, call this thing of urs as "Freedom of Oppression", which it actually is, so that we wont blame u for all the pain n agony ur causing us. Coz then u'll be having the right to do it. Read, research, analyse, get the truth, think, n only then speak up so loud. Got me, boy?

May ALLAH guide us all, Ameen.

    Mansoor.

So....you're saying what the Crusaders did was OK then because???

So you know, the Islamic Faith allowed Christians and other religions to practic their own, unlike the Crusaders.

What about the Christians that tried to commit Genocide against the Indians of the Americas? What did they do first?

There you go, Muslims convert politically. Once they take over the governance of the country, the subjects are under strong Islamic bondage.

This is not so with Christian governance. Look at America, Europe and Australia, the country is so liberal. No one is forced into believing what they do not want to. So you have so many atheists. In Arab world it is a different story.

It seems like they got pushed back to the arid regions, mind you they are creeping back into Europe a few at a time as immigrants. Perhaps its time for another crusade.

    Sign me up Scotty

  • It was unjustified. Christian armies slaughtered innocent people.
