Are ballet flats okay to wear with a formal full length dress or are they not dressy enough?
I really want to wear flats so would ballet flats be okay or should I go with some sort of strappy sandal type flat?
We're in Hawaii so weather isn't really an issue =)
I want to wear flats, my dress will look too short if I wear heels and my husband is the same height as me - I don't want to be taller than him. So please don't tell me to wear heels.

if they are in nice condition and match the dress, then ballet flats look really dressy. try adding some nice jewelery and don't worry about your shoes :)

Ballet flats come in all kinds of styles, and I'm sure you can find some that will go with your dress. I have problems with my lower legs and ankles, and would have loved the new ballet flats when I was younger, especially with a full length dress. It's now fall (if you live in the northern hemisphere) and strappy sandals with or without heels aren't the right 'look' for this colder weather. Go online and do a search for ballet flats ... then go shopping!

Absolutely wear flats or Mary Janes with jeans. When I do, my husband thinks it is cute! I wear heels most of the time with skirts or trousers. No socks, knee high hose if it is cold. A very stylish look.

define formal length.. if it touches the floor you really shouldnt be able to see the shoes.. but i would go with strappy sandle type flats so if tip of your feet pop out it looks as though you have clssy formal shoes on.

hmm.. it depends, if your tall yes lol
but personally i would go with something with a small heel or as you said a strappy sandal type if the dress is formal (:
