For those who have been deployed?
Can you give some examples of things your spouse did that made your homecoming easier? And conversely things they did that made it harder?
My husband is coming home from his first deployment soon and due to me being 8 months pregnant he will already be dealing with having to share his homecoming with his mother in law so I want to make sure everything I do have control over will make things easier for him.
Also we have a three year old daughter so any advice on helping her would be appreciated as well.

7 AnswersDrama1 decade agoIs "River City" called for any reason besides someone in the area being wounded/killed?
I understand that communication restrictions can happen for a lot of reasons but when they specifically use the term "River City" are there other reasons?
3 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoSending pop in care packages overseas?
For those of you have sent or received pop in care packages:
How was it sent? USPS, etc.
Plastic bottles, cans?
Did it explode, what kind of condition did it arrive in?
Did you declare it on the customs forms?
Any help would be appreciated - I want to send my husband some pop that we can only get in the northeast. Thanks!

5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoHow often should I send care packages?
Hubby is deployed and I was thinking about sending him a care package once a month. He's at a base where he can get pretty much anything he wants and he should be gone for seven months.

Do you include your BAH when you calculate the 15% you're supposed to set aside for retirement?
I would think you should since on getting out we'll still need to pay for housing, however here in Hawaii BAH is a pretty large amount so it kind of throws things off. I'd like to increase some other areas of our budget but I don't want to short-change our retirement savings.

1 AnswerPolitics1 decade agoWhat color shoes do you think would look good with a deep red (Maroon) dress?
I'm going to the Marine Corps ball in a couple of weeks and I need to get some shoes - the dress is formal of course, full length and a dark maroon color, what color shoes should I go with - I wish I could post a pic but I can't find any of this dress on the internet.
9 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoIs the Marine Corps Ball in Hawaii less formal?
I have a knee length dress that I'm considering wearing to the ball this year. I'm wondering if I will stand out or if the MC ball in Hawaii would be less formal since most things out here are a little more relaxed? Any input would be very much appreciated.
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoHow different is it riding a 250cc motorcycle vs a 750cc one and in what ways?
My husband has been teaching me a little bit how to ride on his 750cc bike and I'm looking at taking the MSF class which uses 250 and 100cc bikes. My husband's bike is kind of intimidating right now so I'm hoping to get my feet wet with this class and build up my confidence so just looking for what to expect the differences to be as far as riding. Thanks.
5 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoOB visit needed but doctors are refusing care?
I'm about 8 or 9 weeks pregnant and have not actually had a prenatal visit. I'm currently traveling for the next month and a half and need to get a doctor's visit but every doctor I have tried has refused care because I only need one visit. Why is this? Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you get around it?
