Why should I care about partisan bickering when people I love are being laid off from their jobs?

Update:

Thanks for all the comments so far and being civil. I'm in a very bitter mood right now because of all of this. I'll leave this open for awhile longer then I'll put it up for a vote for best answer. Peace, everyone.

stand up and tell people - start buying American even if it costs a little more. people forget that when "we the people" stop supporting "we the people" we all fail. "we the people" can continually scream for raises and higher wages but that only makes the product more expensive so that "we the people" buy from china or elsewhere instead of our own "we the people". oh and let's not forget how the big 3 had people "laid off" for up to 5 years at 90% of their salary -- yeah that was a real swift union negotiation!

what type of location and positions are your friends in!? is it something that they can do elsewhere or grow in a change of careers?! a friend of mine was laid off/fired when after 21 years there the company shut it's doors. it took a couple months but he's back employeed. sure it's alittle less but he's not compaining!

Wow, I didn’t know you loved me! Hahaha… kidding. But I am one of the many people laid-off. I used to be in the IT field, but was “out-sourced” out of that job. So I had to return to “Manufacturing” in the RV Industry in Elkhart country Indiana. A little over a month ago, I was laid-off with no return date in sight. I worked for a company who built high end RV’s on Semi chassis – our customers had more money than they knew what to do with, but thanks to the policies of the current Administration, even rich people are broke.

To me it’s not a partisan issues at all, to me it’s all about jobs – without the middleclass, our nation is doomed. We must STOP outsourcing, we must STOP pumping our tax dollars into an unjust war (Iraq) and we must STOP the partisan bickering before this great nation falls so far we can not get back up again.

The people you love have been laid off . . . .

Then you want the economy to be on the mend, so they can find a GOOD job, . . right?

Going after the rich (class-warfare) only encourages the rich to hide their money.

Lowering taxes, for EVERYONE encourages people, even rich people to invest their money, start businesses, and hire new employees for their existing businesses.

Jacking UP taxes on businesses and the rich tends to shut down economic growth. Lowering everyone's taxes fuels the economy. Take ten minutes and google the revenues that POURED into the national treasury when Ronald Reagan lowered taxes.

The Dems predicted recession , . . . depression . . . but it was the longest "peace-time" economic BOOM in our history.

Vote McCain / Palin to help the economy get moving.

Vote Barack Hussein Obama to shut the economy down.

    The choice is yours,

    Dan in Miami

You shouldn't care about bickering, but you should care about which party is going to control the next government.

Do you want the markets to regulate themselves and wait for more trickledown improvements to arrive - after 8 years of prior waiting? Then keep the same party in. Otherwise vote for the other party which tries to benefit the middle and lower incomes.

The primary difference between the two parties is how they view the role of government. Should the government work for you or be curbed ?

Answer: Higher taxes means less jobs. The business owner will make a profit by cutting overhead, and guess what? Extra employees are overhead. Yes indeed socialism is a vicious circle, and the dumb and the lazy are the real losers.

The economy is in serious trouble and most people realize that by now. We must vote into office people who actually care about what happens to ordinary people and who will try to do something to address our economic situation. That's why I'm voting for Obama. This is important. A continuation of Republican trickle-down nonsense will ruin what's left of the country's economy.

  • You shouldn't. I don't. What I'd suggest is that they look for opportunities in the area, services that their community or area needs and start their own business. Why do folks continue to rely on other companies to provide them with a pay check when they can so easy provide that pay check for themselves?

    So true.

    Best to vote for change.

For the candidate who says "Jobs, baby jobs"

    And that man is

    OBAMA

through his champion and spokeswoman, Hillary Clinton.

Because you're supposed to blame the victim. If your loved ones got laid off it's their own fault for some reason.
