  • Possible to move all subfolder files to top folder in Windows Explorer?

Okay, to explain better! I have Windows 7 64-bit on a Dell.

Say you have a folder named "Reports" Within that folder you have a bunch of folders, with various names, like "Finances," "January 2010," whatever, but you have more than one. I would like to move all of the files from all of the sub-folders so that they are all located in Reports instead of the sub-folders. Then I could just delete the sub-folders themselves and not lose the actual files. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

  • Is there a way to keep Flash Player installed but require a prompt?

Essentially, I would like to be able to open a page and not have a Flash-Player-based advertisement suddenly start playing. I have not been able to find a way to do this. Anyone else have any success? Thanks in advance.

  • How is the music genre "goat metal" defined?

I thought it was humorous at first...I kept finding bands with "goat" in their title. Judas Goat. Goat Molester. Goat the Head. And album titles with goats in the titles too. But it wasn't just a funny coincidence...turns out that "Goat Metal" is an actual genre. Sampling songs by artists that apparently to fit into the genre makes it obvious to me that this is a subgenre of death metal perhaps. But some "genre clarification" would be helpful to this metal fan. Thanks!

I would pardon all people convicted solely on charges of possession of marijuana.

  • Where might I find, in one place, reproductions of all of Monet's Rouen Cathedral paintings?

I have just listened to a lecture on these paintings and am very eager to see them all in one place, preferably in a book, but a website will do as well. I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for so far. So, if anyone has a quick way to find such a thing, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  • Becoming vegan: what do you do with your animal-based stuff?

So, if one is converting to veganism for ethical/spiritual reasons, what is commonly done with the leather/fur/wool/existing foodstuffs that the person already has?

Say, if you just bought a new leather jacketstill in perfect condition, is it better to use it until it wears out, give it to the poor so you can set a good example to others by not wearing it in public, or have a respectful burial of such items out of respect for the creature who died?

And should you eat the eggs and cheese that are still in your refrigerator?

  • Is there an effective way to sing while dealing with a cough?

I sing in a garage/punk/rock kind of band. We have practice on Sunday, and I've been coughing...not severely, but regularly, all week. It seems to have started by singing too harshly last Sunday night...I'm still learning. Anyway, is there a way to still sing around the coughing...will cough drops just make the singing harder in terms of phlegm or whatever? I don't know what's causing this one...it's a weird time of year for it to be happening if it's allergy-related.

Thanks in advance for any advice, if any can be had.

  • What should I look for when seeking a house to rent?

I'm looking to switch from apartment renting to house renting in the next year or so. My only "amenity" requirement is a back yard for my dog. What are the little things people miss when choosing a house to rent...considerations in healthy living, structural issues, plumbing, electrical, and also anything regarding the property manager. I know a few things from my own experience, but I want to be as careful and thorough as possible, which is why I'm taking some time with this. I hope this question isn't too vague or broad. Thanks in advance!

PS: I live in New Mexico (Albuquerque).

  • When awakening too early, how do you get back to sleep?

    My specific situation, for example:

Last night, lights out at midnight. Set alarm for 6:15 or so.

Woke up at 4 a.m. Couldn't get back to sleep. Finally got up, read a little, got ready, and went to work.

By 8 a.m. I have a lot of work to do that requires focus. My eyes are droopy and I keep feeling like I'm going to doze off.

Also, I have sleep apnea and use a bipap machine.

It would have been better, upon awakening at 4, if I could have gotten another hour or two of sleep. But how to do that? I wasn't enthusiastically awake...I really didn't want to get out of bed.

Techniques would be great and much appreciated!

  • If I only add exercise, will I still lose weight?

I hope this isn't one of those excessively asked questions! If so, I'm sorry.

I'm overweight with these health issues:

    Sleep apnea.

Just entered the blood-sugar level for diabetes to be officially diagnosed.

I just started working on the treadmill this past week (five times in eight days so far at 30 minute increments with plenty of sweating!). Normally I'm pretty sedentary, aside from taking my dog for short walks. If I fail to get my eating habits under control (I'm trying, but let's just say), but continue this kind of exercise, will I still lose weight and maybe get the blood sugar issue under control.

I've heard this is true but figure it couldn't help to ask. Thanks in advance.

  • Could the evolution vs. creation conflict be solved this way?

I'm just going to write what I basically believe on this and look forward to feedback from anyone who wants to offer it.

I personally believe that every living creature has a soul. It's possible that we define "living creature" in too limited a way, but I'll put that aside. My dog has a soul. A chimpanzee has a soul. A dandelion has a soul. Go as far as you want with that.

Given this, we humans do not represent some kind of pinnacle of creation. Creation is a system, not a thing that God did, trial and error, until finally getting it right when God made Adam and Eve.

Hence, we are no greater than an ancient species of primate, and it's not contradictory at all to suggest that there was intelligent design behind Creation AND part of that intelligence included the potential for species to evolve.

In other words, the ancient creatures from whom we human creatures evolved were soul-ful beings already, just like we are.

  • What does *drink* mean in answers?

I'm seeing people type "**drink**" in their answers to some questions here in R&S off and on.

Is it sort of like typing "yawn" when you think a question is boring? Or something else?

  • Why is the news not reporting on the Impeachment articles?

As we speak, Dennis Kucinich is delivering 35 articles of impeachment against George W. Bush to the Congress.

I looked at the home pages of CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and BBC. I find nothing on this at all.

    Any theories why?

  • How can I become closer to God?

I am a liberal Christian with an open mind about all spiritual paths.

With that in mind, I do want to be closer to God. I guess that's a pretty common desire.

I am open to points of view from people of any spiritual practice (or none at all). I ask this question for two reasons: for ideas to try on my own path, and to learn about the diversity of the paths of others.

    Thanks!

  • Do you think it's impossible for a man to stay monogamous in a gay relationship?

I was told that once. I don't have lots of romantic experience, in spite of my age, and when I was told that I was, frankly, taken aback. For me, once I'm in a committed relationship, I fully expect monogamy both from myself and from him. Am I doomed romantically? Do I need to just accept that such a thing is pretty much impossible?

  • Can anyone point me to the great underground hip-hop?

I've gotten pretty out of date with hip hop music over the past 15 years...I'm not even up to speed on popular hip hop. Can anyone point me to a good source of the underground stuff, so I can catch up? Thanks!

  • What is the point of the "politics" category in Yahooo! Answers?

So many of the categories here have sincere questions with thoughtful and/or informative answers. Here, it seems that almost every "question" is just a jab at someone in disguise, and the answers are all back-and-forth one-liners. This is an honest question: do you feel this is a good way to discuss politics? Do you think anything is accomplished this way? (As for me, I've found myself doing the same thing, and I've discovered it's really not much fun, and I don't feel like it's contributing anything positive or productive.)

This isn't meant to attack anyone. I really have been thinking about this and would like others' thoughts. Thanks.
