If you were President of the U.S., who would you pardon?

I would pardon all people convicted solely on charges of possession of marijuana.

Update:

I wasn't thinking, when I wrote this question, about the question of the logic of having the existence of a presidential pardon, but it's a very good point I think. I don't think the president should have that power either. But just think of this as a fantasy question. ;-)

The two border agents sent to prison for shooting a drug smuggler on the southern border. Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. All drug smugglers should be shot. And drug users should be in prison!!!!!!!!

I would pardon no one. That is for the courts and the law makers to work out. I completely disagree with presidential pardons

I would pardon those people too. There are violent offenders who could use those cells. And more than a few CEOs.

And Constitution be damned, I'd throw in jail the entire management of the NY Giants for making us pony up $20,000 per seat if we want to keep our season tickets, for a new stadium that the Giants don't need. Nice timing, Giants management.

Even if I had that kind of money, the Giants wouldn't be my first priority.

No one because I don't believe that the president should be able to do this. After all the people that Clinton pardoned, it will be interesting to see who Bush pardons.

agree I dont think people need to be in prison over MJ. But straight pardons I would go with the border guards.

I'd commute most federal death penalty sentences to life unless the person has killed people in prison with incontrovertible (well beyond simply beyond a reasonable doubt) evidence and cannot be controlled. I don't think we should have the death penalty except in cases of no alternative and absolute certainty over the guilt, since it is completely irreversible.

    No one, everyone's guilty.

Seriously, I'd pardon anyone who's asked for DNA evidence to be examined if the state won't do it.

No one, it doesn't make sense for the president to have the power to determine whether a person is guilty or innocent when we have an entire Judicial branch that is supposed to do that.

I agree with you possession of marijuana.

the war on drugs is another war that will never end. nonviolent crimes, especially marijuana possession, is crowding our legal system and should not be a crime to begin with

however, this is different from other controlled substances that are directly related to death, like heroin, which should be prohibited and are highly addictive.

I would pardon the Border Patrol agents who were wrongly convicted.
