Christians, tell me what you know of the "Tree of Life"?
and why it it almost never mentioned when you tell us the story of the Garden of Eden and the "fall" of mankind due to the other tree. If you read the story, it clearly states that God never did intend for humans to "live forever", not unless they remained ignorant of both good and evil. Why wouldn't God want humans to be able to discern good from evil? So he kicked them out of the garden lest they become like Him (the bible would have us say "them" for God speaks of Himself in the plural at that point). And then there is that pesky cherub set up to guard the tree.... Why don't your ministers preach on this topic? Why don't you ever mention it yourselves?
Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

If you want to learn more in depth about the tree of life, you will actually have to look to jewish sources. Stay just as christian as you want, but the jewish writers in ancient times had a lot more to say on that particular subject. Do a search on 'Sefirotic Tree' and go from there. Refer to the Zohar, too, there's tons of info. And there's nothing about it that's going to conflict with whatever your christian notions are. It's pre-christian, anyway...

Even radio ministry hit this subject up along with home ministers. God knew what would happen if people started to know the difference between good and evil, and it clearly shows throughout the Bible mans choices in life up to this day. Now ask yourself what it would be like if they lived forever making the choices they made.
Satan is forever and so are his demons, look at the damage they are doing right now.
When man was ready for the knowledge of good and evil, and God could see that man can handle it and make the right choice, God would have given man the tree of life to eat. Man was way to young, ignorant, and innocent to know what to do with this Extreme burst of knowledge. Do you know how to apply something totally new and different that you just learned? Neither did Adam or Eve, and now look what the world has come to.

There actually is a huge stupid mythology about the tree of life surrounding the few passeges mentioned about it in the scriptures ..i think i was in a bookstore reading it and shaking my head and quite possibly threw the book against the wall...or it dropped out of my hand while I doubled over with laughter ..People love to make stuff up .
I think there is very little to say about it other than is plainly stated in the few verses mentioned ...Man hadn't sinned and was very innocent ...or maybe he had sinned but had zero knowledge that it was a sin...therefore god wasn't going to punish him for it until he had knowledge ...there was only one law and when man broke it he knew he was sinful and sought to hide avoid contct with god and cover up his sin by blaming everyone else ...sound familiar?..i don't think you can make the assumption that god didn't want us to live forever ..it doesn't sat that...man was free to eat of any of the trees in the garden...so .. you could say quite the opposite if you wanted to but certainly after the fell of man he said NO..guard it ..You can get alligorical here and say ..is the word of god the sword of the spirit ?/ and the tree of life the cross that jesus died on? is the devil showing us our own evil inside us ... are adam and eve simply children before the age of accountability ? the bible has multiple layers and truth poured out all over it .. the more you know the more you begin to see..that being said ..I believe every word literally first because if you don't than you are lead of into wild suppositions and will never understand the truth ...Why preachers don't preach on this much is because they are motivated for the souls of lost mankind like christ is ....first .. i've heaard teaching on the garden it's fascinating ..I love it ..i don't mention it for the exact staed reason..concern for the lost

Not much is mentioned on the tree of life, but it is important.
God had a cherub protect the tree so Adam wouldn't live permanently separated from God.
The Garden of Eden was wiped out during the Flood, so I don't think we will have to worry about any of the trees.

The Tree of Life is a symbol for all creation...it points upwards to the heavens, where the trunk is, that is the channel through which life made it to Earth, the roots, those are the people, the branches stretching out horizontally, the rivers, the sky the oceans...

The tree of life is a representation of the preserving care of Christ for His children. As Adam and Eve ate of this tree, they acknowledged their dependence upon God. The tree of life possessed the power to perpetuate life, and as long as they ate of it, they could not die. The lives of the antediluvians were protracted because of the life-giving power of this tree, which was transmitted to them from Adam and Eve
The fruit of the tree of life in the Garden of Eden possessed supernatural virtue. To eat of it was to live forever. Its fruit was the antidote of death. Its leaves were for the sustaining of life and immortality. . . . After the entrance of sin the heavenly Husbandman transplanted the tree of life to the Paradise above.
The redeemed saints, who have loved God and kept His commandments here, will enter in through the gates of the city, and have right to the tree of life. They will eat freely of it as our first parents did before their fall. The leaves of that immortal widespread tree will be for the healing of the nations. All their woes will then be gone. Sickness, sorrow, and death they will never again feel, for the leaves of the tree of life have healed them. Jesus will then see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied, when the redeemed, who have been subject to sorrow, toil, and afflictions, who have groaned beneath the curse, are gathered up around that tree of life to eat of its immortal fruit, that our first parents forfeited all right to, by breaking God's commands. There will be no danger of their ever losing right to the tree of life again, for he that tempted our first parents to sin will be destroyed by the second death.
Upon the tree of life was most beautiful fruit, of which the saints could partake freely. . . . The most exalted language fails to describe the glory of heaven or the matchless depths of a Saviour's love.

The tree gave Adam the opportunity to say NO to Satan and he failed the test which was to obey God or not.
As to the inference of more than one God, Jesus was the instrument using God's Holy spirit to create all we now enjoy. Father creates son as first deed, and THEY create everything else

You have really thought this through and have some very good questions. God has given the answers to them all and will tell you how to find them if you ask him. See James, 1:5,6. Millions of his children have followed this counsel and have found out for themselves. God loves you. Trust Him.
