Do you avoid going to the bathroom right after?

Trying to conceive, I am going to be ovulating next week 11/1 to 11/6 according to WebMD. My DH and I just started trying and I am just curious if that old high school saying really matters when trying to conceive?

the longer the sperm stays inside you the better chance you have to get preg, stay laying down, and just realax, it may take a while to become pregnant, but just dont pee right after, i mean if u have to then dont hold it in to long.

  • Every little bit helps! If you are trying to conceive then yes, remain lying still for a while afterwards. And if possible try and help the little seamen by pointing them in right direction. What I did, and it might sound silly but it seemed like it worked, after sex, I would let my body hang off the side of the bed with my legs up in the air for as long as I could. It was really uncomfortable (Im a big girl), but I am pregnant, so who knows? Maybe it helped, maybe it didn't. Good Luck to you!

Hi, sorry but i don't believe in any of this, the don't go to the toilet or the lie with your legs up senario, i never done any of these when TTC, infact i ALWAYS use the toilet straight after s*x and then jump back into bed and just lie normally, just try to work out your main ovulation days using an ovulation calculator and BD every other day. I wish you the best of luck TTC

I normally avoid going to the bathroom for about 20 mins after. I just lie in bed motionless- sometimes prop up my hips with a pillow or stuffed animal and wait a while.

Then i get up and go to the bathroom. It worked the first time we tried (i got preggers) by doing that.

That way it gives the sperm a chance to swim past the cervix, i.e. the point of no return.

My dad, a GP, advised that as well. He wants to be a grandpa!!

I have been ttc for awhile now what I do is after sex I will lay on my tummy motionless for 20-30 minutes before I go to the bathroom. Going to the bathroom right away can make all the sperm be pushed out. Hope this helped and baby dust to you.

Yeah, I usually go before sex if I have to. I try to stay laying down for about 15-20 minutes after.
