Republicans, this is your chance to send a message. Why not vote Libertarian or Constitution etc.?
You know that you can pencil in anyone you want to right? It is quite easy to do so.
Why not Ron Paul? do you think this financial mess would have happened if Ron Paul would have been president? I think not. He would have never overextended the government the way Bush has.
There is no way McCain can win this election.

I agree, if you are voting for McCain just to keep Obama out, you're fooling yourself. McCain is NOT going to win. Besides, they work for the same people. It's a scam.
Republican = Democrat = Globalist.
If you really want to change the system, and kick all these criminals out of our government, you will have a far greater effect by voting 3rd party (regardless of the outcome).
Not everything is about who "wins." If a significant number of people vote against the Republicrats in 2008, it will have an enormous psychological effect on the 2010 and 2012 elections.
DO NOT DISCOUNT THE POWER OF SOCIAL ENGINEERING and PSYCHOLOGY. The people who control both parties are using it, to great affect, to keep us all locked into the 2 party scam. We should be fighting fire with fire.
The prime reason why many people do NOT vote 3rd party (even though they may want to) is because they believe it will be a "wasted vote." This is a dangerous misconception and it needs to be dispelled.
A vote for a CFR member is ALWAYS a wasted vote.

I am a Ron Paul supporter, but the criminals who now run our elections (the Constitution says that elections are supposed to be run by the states) don't count write ins. This is a violation of the law. First, the FEC is unconstitutional. Secondly, how can government (or more accurately, our politicians) only count candidates who meet their approval? Where did they get this authority?
Since Ron Paul has endorsed Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party, I am voting for Mr. Baldwin. I don't really expect Mr. Baldwin to win the election, but I don't want to waste my vote on McCain or Obama. The only way we can get out from under our one-party system (the Democrats and Republicans really constitute one party - there is no difference between the, - they agree on all the real issues - they work for the same interests), is to start voting for third party candidates.

Ron Paul - The True Champion of Civil Liberties!

I recommend a vote for Chuck Baldwin or a Ron Paul write in. The Libertarian candidate (Bob Barr) is not trustworthy in my book. He is ex-CIA and voted in favor of the Patriot Act. I personally believe this is why Ron Paul would not endorse him.

Texas gives you a list of "write-ins" that will be counted, unfortunately Ron Paul wasn't on the list. Our Libertarian candidate was Bob Barr/Wayne Root. I selected the all Libertarian option and I feel great about my decision.

Because then OBAMA will win. THAT man scares the c**p out of me with his intention of totally changing the Constitution. He himself point blank stated that the Constitution states what the government can't do to the people, but it doesn't state what the government CAN do to the people...there is a big blank. He states he is for change but never states what kind except his big ideas for programs that he doesn't have ANY way of covering except with MASSIVE tax increases on EVERYONE!
That and the fact that he despises a great majority of the US (his comments, not mine) prove that he will not be a strong leader and will bring destruction of the US if he is elected.
I LOVE Ron Paul, but the realist in me realizes that there are too many people on the ticket for any of them win and none of them has been in any recent debate.

Ron Paul is a registered write in candidate with pledged electors in California, so my vote for him will count.
You'd better believe I'm voting for him.

just wanted to say how impressed I was with furious 37's answer
another reason we need instant runoff voting(IRV)..just to show them how much we disdain the people they offer us and the one party system with two wings without hurting our 2nd choices..
once people aren't afraid of "wasting" their vote, we can see how many really support third party candidates like paul, nadar and mckinney etc
I think Dennis Kucinich has fought for IRV
