So where does Pat Burrell end up next year?
He's slow footed and no better than an average outfielder. He is prone to hot and cold streaks. But he has reliably deliver 25 - 30 home runs and 90 RBIs a year with a .260 average and a very high on-base percentage since he draws a lot of walks. I doubt the Phillies will resign him unless he is willing to take a pretty big pay cut.
Who picks him up, and why?

I hope he gets the boot out of Philly. I think the Phillies have wanted to trade him for several years but he wanted to stay and his contract protected him from being traded without his consent. One thing is for sure is he will be playing for a lot less money next year as he was the most overpaid player relative to his skills and contributions.
I'd say he goes to the Marlins, Nationals or Giants, but that's pretty much a guess.
I'm a huge Phillies fan and Pat the bat is the only player I don't like. He strikes me as a whiner with an attitude and he is a bonehead that makes some stupid mistakes. His attitude and lack of speed don't fit the energy and feel of the rest of the team. He needs to go whether he likes it or not.

I cant remember when Burrell had a year like he did in 08. And even 08 wasn't a year to gloat about. I he's an sub par fielder with no range and a good arm. I can see him producing Adam Dunn like numbers as he gets older. And personally, Adam Dunn's strike out or go yard numbers do not attract me. From what I have been reading the Giants are the most likely to sign him, if the Phillies do not. He was close with his ex team mate Aaron Rowand, who also is in the Bay Area. I also have heard talk that he will find up in Toronto or either of the New Yorks. If you were to ask me today where he will wind up I think he will be a Met 80 million for 6 years. Hope my opinion helped you.

i think very sturdy approximately having Raul on the team. he's an stunning fielder and he replaced into even seen the final participant on the Mariners! ( Ichiro isn't that sturdy anymore! He only has velocity and a sturdy glove. nevertheless sturdy, yet no longer the final!) He hit 293. hassle-free and hit 23 homers and a hundred and ten runs batted in. You suggested that he ought to become a Jenkins yet Jenkins isn't that undesirable. The Phil's are maximum possibly to get Derek Lowe so if Ibanez is somewhat that undesirable then they are going to nevertheless have somebody sturdy to fill in for it. 30 million is strictly the same quantity of money they gave to Burrell yet for him it replaced into for 10 years and for Ibanez that's 3 years. Who incredibly cares approximately him being previous. He ought to do comparable to Jamie Moyer! i think that that's a sturdy contract for Raul Ibanez and a sturdy pass for the Phillie's. Who care's approximately ok-Rod and the Met's? i'm in basic terms asking, why does it count that voters financial business enterprise Park isn't designed for righties? Pat Burrell hit homers perpetually!

He stays in Philly because he likes it here. He has said so on many occasions and will be willing to take whatever the market will bear for him to be comfortable.

It's difficult to tell, especially with GM Pat Gillick thinking about retirement. If he's not to overpriced, the Phils will keep him around. If he wants more ca$h, he'll probably end up DH'ing for Boston or the Yanks.

I have a hunch he stays in Philly...The Phils have a good thing gone here and i think he wants to stay.

he should stay in Philly, it was his hit that won the series for the Phils (he got the guy on base then was it feliz or ruiz that drove in the run)

I thought the other day he'd saty in Philly, but now I think he goes to NY.
