How can I make a Speed Racer costume?
Hi, I would like to know if there's a cheap and fast was to make a Speed Racer costume this late? I've been looking for a shirt that looks like Speed's shirt, but I can't find one. I got the pants and shoes, but like I said, I just need the shirt, can any one help me on this? Thanks sooo much in advance.

Man, all you have to do is go to Target and get a white polo shirt. Depends on how, uh, big you are. For me, I'm 158.lbs and all I got to make the Speed Racer shirt was a kids white Cherokee polo shirt, size "L", from Target and a blue shirt from Wal-Mart. You first put on the polo shirt then you put on the blue shirt over the polo. Then, you pull out the collard from underneath the blue shirt and TA-DA!! You have your one Speed Racer shirt! Also, if you want to put the "G" on the front of the shirt, you could buy one of those iron on yellow patches and cut out the "G" and just iron it on. One more thing, you could get the yellow gloves at Wal-Mart too, just look in the glove section and you'll find some gloves that look like Speed's gloves.
Good luck and have a safe and happy Halloween!

Bell helmets has a line of retro helmets, technically referred to as the 3/4 helmet. The 3/4 retro helmet is really in right now with the cafe' crowd. I'd look up some of the manufacturer websites like Bell, Arai, HJC etc. then look at online stores like Dennis Kirk. Heck, you might just want to go to google images and search for 3/4 (or three quarter) helmets. Might be easier to screen potential buys that way. Good luck.

Garage sales, miscellaneous sales, or eBay may have what motorcyclists call an open face helmet. Get a clear visor and cut and polish the rough cut surfaces to match the look before gluing or what ever (wire?) it may take to attach it to the helmet. ....good luck!
