Seriously, this is ruining my life, please help. Farting problem?

i.. fart a lot, basically. constantly.

it doesn't make noise or anything, it's just the smell (not that people don't know it's me)

i feel like i can't sit, stand, walk, do anything near people.

i don't get it.

this is what i eat:

either cereal or waffles and microwaved frozen sausages or bacon with coffee and a cup of water for breakfast.

i don't normally eat lunch, maybe some milk.

for supper, i'll have something my dad made, like meat and vegetables.

i drink water through the course of the day.

also, i've sort of had a constipation problem my whole life, i remember even from when i was a kid i'd be constipated a lot. and i'm sure that partly contributes to the farting.

HELP? what can i do?

first of all, ignore all the losers who are making fun of you. they are ignorant a**holes and karma will come back to bite them!!

my advice: it's definitely something in your diet. i used to get BAD gas before i found out what my food sensitivites are. now i know what not to eat, and i feel much better. try an elimination diet (google it) and you will find out what foods have an affect on you. for me it's dairy products, some veggies (complex carbohydrates, Beano works great for this), red meats, and sugars. i just found out about digestive enzymes from a friend, apparently they help a LOT with digestion and especially gas. gas essentially comes from foods that aren't broken down properly in our digestive system (lack of enzymes for instance, or not chewing food well enough before swallowing).

beware of drugs like gas-x (aka simethicone), they will only break down the gas bubbles to make them pass easier, it will not eliminate it! trust me, i know. beano is an enzyme, it is meant to break down your food so you don't get gas in the first place, so check that out.

i am lactose intolerant, but i have found probiotic yogurt (like biobest vitalite or activia) REALLY helps because of all the "good" bacteria in it (it will help with the constipation too), i have no problems digesting that and some aged cheeses (in small amounts). i also drink lactose-free milk, which tastes even better than regular milk, no joke!

i know how stressful it can be to have this problem, and it definitely affects your social life but don't worry you'll get it figured out! i would suggest seeing a doc before making any big changes in your diet, like the elimination diet, just so you have a second opinion. keep a food journal: basically write down everything you eat for a week and keep track of when and how bad your gas is and how often you have a bowel movement. i know it sounds weird but this info is very valuable to a doctor that is trying to diagnos you.

    good luck!

ps- i would beware of Kris L's reccomendation to eat garlic, this is a HUGE gas causer for me, so i only eat it when i have beano tablets on hand. just a thought.

Source(s): had digestive problems since i was a kid, i've done a LOT of research!

You know, something very similar happened to me and i havent seen him for a little over a year now. I can never look guys like i did with him and i still miss him a lot. Lately ive been thinking of contacting him again but im not sure.. If i did, then it would be better to do it now than way later. Life is complicated , sometimes i dont know whether i should just let sleeping dogs lie or if i should go and do something about it. I think this is one of those times where we should take action if nothing else works, even if the two of us should only end up being just friends.. At least there will be some final closure and we will finally be able to move on. Anyways, just do what you think is right, and good luck with whatever you decide

I don't know if this would help so my answer is just a suggestion. You should ask about maybe getting a colon cleanse. I would do some internet research on the subject and maybe frankly ask a doctor if it would help. I am guessing that maybe you are "backed up" and have been for a long time. It is making you gassy and the fact that it is old waste that needs to exit your system would contribute to the smell. You could also change your diet to see if something happens. Milk can definitely do it to you. Sorry I cannot be more help.

Stop drinking milk if you are over 15 (you need to drink at least three cups of milk a day if you are under 15, but get 'acidophilus' milk rather than 'regular' milk). Stop eating the microwaved meats in the morning. Eat a good 'fiber' cereal, like Raisin Bran or any other cereal with bran in it. Eat lunch ... have fresh or frozen fruit (a bowl full of berries at least three times a week) and/or salad. For dinner, eat a slice of whole grain (or multi-grain) bread, three cups of salad (use a light vinaigrette dressing), at least one cup of vegetables ... and if you don't have any FRESH garlic used to prepare your dinner, take the 'garlic oil gel-caps' you can get at any health food store or most grocery stores. You should stop being constipaed and also stop having the 'embarrassing gas eruptions' within two weeks. It's the garlic that helps, but you do need to eat more good vegetables and fruit to be 'healthy' and that includes your 'digestive tract.'

Source(s): I had 'life long' constipation, too ... this 'diet' has made me regular, and if I do have 'gas' it doesn't stink, and then I only have it rarely.

Flatulence is a common problem in people who are constipated. The decomposition of the waste material in your bowels by bacteria produces gas which is the cause of flatulence.

A few things that may help :

    1. A high fibre diet. Bran cereal, bran muffins, etc.

    2. Taking a probiotic with live bacterial spores. This will replace the good bacteria in your bowels and can assist with constipation as well as reducing flatulence.

    3. Activated charcoal tablets are useful for reducing flatulence. You can get it from your pharmacy.

    4. A diet high in fresh fruit and vegetables.

    Good luck !!!

Everybody farts. Coffee is not cool for people that have a real problem with a sensitive colon. Milk causes some people problems. High fiber can help with your constipation, and might help with gas by emptying out your colon more regularly (gas is a result of fermenting waste -- if you move it along every 12 hours, it won't ferment as much).

If you don't go #2 at least once a day, consider taking a fiber supplement like psyllium husk.

your diet is wrong *if you want to know why you are farting that much*

sausage is bad for disturbed colon

    milk is bad for you

start your day with fruits * water*2 glasses

    *that will heal your constipation*

in the middle of the day eat small bread with some tuna and tomato and lettuce

    dont eat *

beans /onions /garlic/cabbages/corn /broccoli and anything that makes you irritated ,

avoid sugar as much as you can it makes you fart a lot

and if you eat anything that makes you fart *take flax seed pill and chamomile and i would suggest you drink them daily till your colon gets better

,at night eat good meal ,and dont eat after 8 ever

if the problem persists ,go to doctor

seems like u dont excersice a lot. When u are not so mobile the gases build up in ur body and result in farting.

Take my advise go for a walk or a jog everyday to reduce farts

Constipation is your problem. You must try to change your intestinal bacteria (flora). Try drinking yogourt daily, and eat a soft diet, manly vegetables and fruit.

you shouldn't worry about it really. It happens and whenever I fart i just pretend like i didnt do it. If it makes noise just say excuse me and sorry and people will forget about. Really don't worry about it .. it may seem like i'm crazy but dont. The people that laugh at you and make fun of you are jerks and just be glad your not one of those people. Whenever someone farts i dont laugh
