Can you point to me to the real America, please?

I'm confused, I live in Brooklyn, New York City, and I keep hearing from the McCain and Palin that I don't live in real America.

That befuddles me.

I mean, considering the 8,000,000 people who live here, I would guess that 7,500,000 people are middle and working class folks.

And even more so

Considering that this is one of the first cities established on this continent.

Considering that one of the biggest battles of the Revolutionary War were fought right here.

Considering that of all the Americans who have shed blood for this country, no one single place has given up more of her sons and daughters than New York City.

Considering that in our great melting pot, 1 in 4 people can trace their ancestry through New York City.

Considering that when terrorists flew those planes into those towers, it was in New York City.

And when those 3000 people perished, it was 3000 New Yorkers who perished, and the friends and family of us, here, in New York.

And when I open the paper, every other day I read about another young man or woman from New York who has died fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan.

So someone please tell me who the hell Sarah Palin and John McCain are talking about when they speak abotu real America, or real Americans? Because it doesn't get any more American than New York City, the greatest city on the face of the earth.

PLease tell Mrs. Palin to bring it back to her pseudo-Canadian territory, because us REAL AMERICANS don;t want to hear it.

Update:

Kettu - The heartland. Land of the giant agri-corps. You do realize the myth of the independent farmer is dead don;t you? My family is from Iowa, and they moved me here as a baby, but I spent every summer out there growing up, and my first job was detassling corn. I know from experience what is up with our food being grown, and people working in the factories.

But heres a news flash for you: We have factories in Brooklyn too.

Update 2:

proust - how does that make you more American than me?

Guess what we too, have houses. But our houses actually increase in value. We too drive automobiles, but we do have the worlds bets system of public transportation.

Let me tell you what we don't have:

Wal-Mart

Instead we have viable mom and pop shops. We don;'t have a single main street, we have hundreds of them, lined with small business owners.

Brooklyn is a conglomerate of small towns. Every neighborhood is a small community. And I know fo small towns in the heartland. Shooting deer doesn't make you an American, but being an active member in your community does.

We don't shoot deer, youre right, but we play basketball better than Indiana and Kentucky combined.

Real America = the heartland. Brooklyn is fake America. Sorry to break this news to you. You might as well live in Mozambique or something; you guys are crazy foreigners to the rest of us. Real Americans live in houses (not "apartments"), and get around by driving (not on "the subway"). They go deer hunting during deer season and go fishing whenever. That's the real America. But if you live in Brooklyn, you've probably never seen it.

They mean the heartland, you know where your food comes from and where more of the factories are located. The foundation of the nation.

Now they talk about the heartland now, but they will mostly only work for the large cities after the election.

It is a small town in North Dakota that shares its zip code with two of its neighbors and. The Kentucky Fried Chicken is sold by Sgt. Sanders and nobody is on welfare. The residents are all well versed in foreign policy because they can see Canada in the distance,

Yes they don't like high population density they want only the low populated areas it looks like.

Is that a winning plan or what?

It sound like a plan one of our lovable Y!A republicans came up with, something pathetically stupid.

...Hence the utter rubbish that falls out of the mouths of Palin and McCain every time they open them.
