Is Obama laying the ground work to raise taxes?

Obama seems to be getting ready to renege on his plan to cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans if he is elected. Recently when asked about his goals for the first hundred days, he said he would, 'need more time to tackle such big and costly issues as health care reform, global warming and Iraq'.

In a campaign speech in Florida he talked about how 'hard' it will be to achieve his goals especially with “the cost of this economic crisis, and the cost of the war in Iraq”.

I would not be surprised if within his first 100 days in office he will address the American people, blame Bush and the Republicans, and announce he cannot fulfill his pledge to cut taxes. In fact, using his own campaign rhetoric, he will state that we all need to come together and share the burden.

Has he already started laying the groundwork for this announcement?

If not for these reasons he would have found others. Obama supporters refuse to understand that he has never supported tax cuts before and he certainly hasn't changed so that he truly supports them now. He is in plain everyday English; a liar.

He is going to raise capital gains taxes which will stifle a lot of small business expansion. I would worry more about the missile defense shield he is going to dismantle if he gets in to pay for his so called tax money redistribution. Just another way for him to redistribute cash to wherever he wants. Obama says 2 weeks ago the tax credit was for 250,000 and below, next week it was 200,000, yesterday it was tax breaks for 150,000 and below, now today it is down to 120,000, and Obama is not in the office yet, if he gets in he will go back to what he voted for in 2007 and the 90+ votes he cast before that to increase taxes on everyone that makes more than $42,000. btw Obama cannot cut taxes on the 95% of the population, considering that 40% do not even pay taxes, yet they are supposedly going to get a welfare check. You need to triple check what Obama's says, as well as what everyone tells you these days...;}-~

*From Joe Bidens guaranteed prediction about an attack on the US being eminent in 6 months if Obama gets in the office , sounds like a good excuse to abandon any and all promises that Osama made.

Forget about what both candidates say. Taxes are going up for everyone. You can't have a stimulus package, a bailout and tax cuts without raising the debt even more. The money has to come from some place. They both say what they have to for votes but once elected taxes will go up.

  • Obama is back pedaling plain and simple. His orginal wealthy definition was 250,000 then it went down to 200,000 then Biden said it was 150,000 and now Bill Richardson says it's 120,000. Sooner or later that amount will make it's way down to 42,000 just like Obama voted for increading taxes on 41,600.

Just how does people realistically expect to be fighting a war, rescuing every bank and rescuing home owners without paying taxes. I'm under no illusions. Still I think the best man for the job is Obama

He's laying the ground work to raise taxes as sure as the Pope is Catholic. Say good bye to jobs and your money. Say hello to unemployment and hard times if he gets elected.
