I am a fairly easy going guy with a great (dry) sense of humor. I try not to take myself to seriously. It makes life a lot easier to deal with. I studied History and Political Science at the University of Kansas (Go Hawks!). My biggest hobby is Astronomy and Space Science. Yes, I am a science geek.
The award for bad science movie goes to; 2012 or Armageddon?
Which is worse?

5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoWho believes Obama is a 'God'?
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCould someone explain this?
It’s been 100 days since the ‘stimulus’ package was signed. Since then, 1.5 million people have joined the ranks of the unemployed. However Obama claims the ‘stimulus’ has saved or created 100K jobs. Really, where are they? He also states that it will create 600K this summer. Really? In the form of summer youth jobs (ie. Temporary) and road construction jobs (These are good paying, but you can only build so many roads).
With unemployment at 9.4 percent and rising, could someone please explain how anyone could say the ‘Stimulus’ is working.

8 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhy do some people hate the idea of God?
This may sound very simplistic, but it's not. I am not referring to the age old debate about the existence of God or disagreements over religion. I am referring to those who launch into a rage whenever God is mentioned.
It's not enough to say 'I am a atheist' or 'I don't believe in God'. They go into a vitriol diatribe denouncing everyone and everything even remotely associated with the concept of God.
What I would like to know is why some people can stand the idea of God even in the abstract.

10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWho is believes this lie?
Obama just stated that one American goes bankrupt every 30 seconds due to health care cost. That's 1,051,200 cases per year! A study by The Institute for Financial Liberties indicates 52% of bankruptcies were the result of loss of income. Of those bankruptcies, 36% percent of those were the result of injury or illness. We'll just assume all those fall in the health care category just to be fair.
However, the total estimated number of bankruptcies in 2008 were 1,086,000. That's not good by any means. But these two figures do not add up. Who's lying?

4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAgree or disagree with the following statement and why?
The [US] Constitution is a charter of negative liberties, says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow would extending unemployment benefits to 24, 36 weeks or more help the economy?
It seems a little counterproductive. If you are 'looking' for a job, and it takes you over a half a year to get it, something is wrong. Either you're incompetent, or your just waiting for that 'perfect job' to just fall in your lap. Furthermore, your not adding anything to the economy during this time, you're just spending the taxes paid by people who are working. I just don't understand how allowing people to remain unemployed for longer periods of time is going to grow the economy.
I'd really like someone to explain this.

1 AnswerMythology & Folklore1 decade agoHow many atheists believe the world will end in 2012?
I am just curious. It's not hard to find vitriol postings in YA denouncing the existence of God for lack of evidence. Yet, postings about the end of the world, and the existence of aliens are treated as absolute truths despite the fact that there is even less evidence to support these beliefs. Why is that?

6 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoHow much do UAW members make?
The figure of $70 an hour has been mentioned a lot lately. I did some research and found that labor costs for GM are $73.26 an hour. That includes wages and benefits. So even if a UAW member is not taking home $70 an hour, they are still receiving a wage and benefit package of over $140,000 a year. By comparison, the average household income in the US is $50,000 a year according to the US census.
Anyway, I went to the UAW website to clear this up to no avail. Seriously, I would really like to know how much UAW members make, and why they think everyone but themselves need to make sacrifices to get the economy going?
3 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIs Obama laying the ground work to raise taxes?
Obama seems to be getting ready to renege on his plan to cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans if he is elected. Recently when asked about his goals for the first hundred days, he said he would, 'need more time to tackle such big and costly issues as health care reform, global warming and Iraq'.
In a campaign speech in Florida he talked about how 'hard' it will be to achieve his goals especially with “the cost of this economic crisis, and the cost of the war in Iraq”.
I would not be surprised if within his first 100 days in office he will address the American people, blame Bush and the Republicans, and announce he cannot fulfill his pledge to cut taxes. In fact, using his own campaign rhetoric, he will state that we all need to come together and share the burden.
Has he already started laying the groundwork for this announcement?
