Question for people who know the show Bleach very well!?

These are just some questions that I have, I am not 100% sure what their answers are, so please help!

1: When a shinigami has a greater reiatsu than another, does that mean that they are stronger? In other words, does a reiatsu measure a person’s strength as well as spirit pressure?

2: Did Ichigo’s friends receive powers because of Ichigo’s (extremely strong) spirit power?

3: Does the squad that a shinigami is in depend on the skill of the shinigami. For example, is a person in the 11th squad stronger than the person in the 9th?

4: Will Ichigo live longer than an average human now that he is a shinigami? He is a human still, but at the same time he is a shinigami, correct? And I remember Rukia saying that she is like 3 times older than him (or something), so is Ichigo going to live a long time as well?

5: When Ichigo was saving Rukia from Soul Society, and he fought Ikkaku Madarame (bald dude), when didn’t Ikkaku pull out his bankai when he was going to lose to Ichigo? (That was Ikkaku, right?)

6: Does Rukia have bankai? I don’t recall her using it if she does have it.

So! Please answer! Thanks!

    1. Having a stronger reiatsu doesn't mean they stronger, in terms of physical strength, for example Ichigo and Zaraki have immense reiatsu but Zaraki is physically stronger. Rather, reiatsu is a measure of potential ability, hence the reason Aisen feels more threatened by Ichigo then the entire Gotei 13.

    2. It is believed that Ichigo's presence and his battle with Ishida drew out his friends spiritual powers because it was an instinct brought on by the situation at the time.

    3. The number of the division means nothing. Each division has a speciality (4 is healing, 10 is research, 11 is fighting etc.). It's just a way to divide the Shinigami into areas of expertise to maximise output.

    4. Ichigo has a human body, it should still age at a normal rate as it is only his soul which is a substitute Shingami. Whether that means Ichigo will cease to be a Shinigami when he dies is unknown.

    5. Ikkaku doesn't want anybody to know he has Bankai as it would make people pester him into becoming a captain. He has stated his only wish is to die serving Zaraki, as such he doesn't reveal Bankai unless he can hide it. His fight with Ichigo would have drawn too much attention as well as revealing his power to Ichigo.

    6. Although she has yet to show it, it is hinted that Rukia has Bankai. We know this because we are told she is at captain class but Byakuya wouldn't allow her to become a captain. As she has not defeated a previous captain, this means the only other way for her to become captain is to achieve Bankai. There is a third way to become captain but Byakuya's disapproval would not stop her from achieving this. This is all just speculation, based on the assumption that all captains (except Zaraki) attained their rank by acheiving Bankai.

    1. Yes, the stronger the reiatsu, the stronger the shinigami, but the shinigami has to know how to use it properly too.

    2. It is probable that Ichigo's strong reiatsu influenced his friends Chado and Inoe. But imo, they must have been like compatible somehow because not all of Ichigos direct friends gained anything, not even the ability to see ghosts.

    3. No, the different squads are more so based on different kinds of skill. For example the fourth squad is mainly healing oriented, they tend to the wonded. Some of the different squads have slightly different styles of fighting. They also have their own area's that they patrol. etc. It is not purely skill level. Each squad has a captain (very strong) and a vice captain(not always at the same level as the captain but still very strong.) So you could say that the leadership is based on strength as a shinigami.

    4. They never really answered that question for us. I think that he will still live a normal life and die like any other human would. An even bigger question I have is of Ichigo's father, but I don't want to give you spoilers.

    5. Ikkaku has too much pride.

    6. No she hasn't developed her bankai yet.

If you like reading I recommend the manga http://www.onemanga.com/bleach sometimes you can catch things you might have missed. And it's fun to read. warning though, it goes pretty far ahead of the anime, if you don't mind spoilers.

    1. reiastu is like an energy that flows through a person. This energy is what makes up a persons strength. People can usually compare strength by comparing reiastus, though it's not always reliable.

    2. That's what I suspect. That or Ichigo's presence drew out powers they already had.

    3. No. I think the squads refer to the order in which they where formed. I don't know for sure, but I know it not by strength.

    4. I think his body will eventually deteriorate/fail and then he'll probably become an official shinigami.

    5. Yeah he has a bankai, he's just keeping it secret.

    6. She can do this ice and snow thing with her sword, but I can't remember what it's called I don't think it's a bankai though.

  • 1) Yeah, I mean a badass reiatsu makes you a badass fighter in Bleach XD

    2)Yup, his powers affected them.

3)No- the squads have notjing in power ranking.. so you cannot rank the squads in power from their numbers.

4)Hmmm let's hope so. I think he will.

5)Yes it was Ikkaku, but then Ichigo would probably blab to the next guy he fought (if he surviveved) or if Ikkaku mangaged to kill the Ryoka, he would have to tell Yamamoto how he did it.

6)No, Rukia has no Bankai.I hope she does get it, though ^^

    1) I don't know

2)yes and no, they already had their own powers, ichigo's spirit power just awakened it a little bit. Mostly it was they themselves that developed it on their own during training with the black cat.

3)no, if you remember there was a "special squad" set aside for healers. It was called "squad 4"

4)He is already dead, he lives inside a fake body now called a gi-guy. Just like Rukia. Remember Tessai cut his soul chain during training with Urahara right before he goes to soul society to save Rukia.

5)He didn't get bankai until later in the series

6)yes she does she didn't get the chance in the series to use it yet.

    2. Yes, but it's because he couldn't control it and constantly let it leak out.

    5. He wants to keep it a secret. If it gets out, he would no longer serve under Kenpachi. (He would be promoted.)

    Sorry, that's all I know.
