I am absolutely loving a product by Arm and Hammer called "Scrub Free" with Oxyclean. It was $2.19 at Walmart, and is doing the best job of removing soap scum of all the products I have tried.

The best natural method is to use white vinegar. It has been tried and tested and is proven to work, see below for step by step guide...

    Natural Formula to Use:

    Pure white vinegar

    Method to Use:

1.Fill a clean spray bottle with pure vinegar

2.Spray the vinegar freely over the shower door and wait for a few minutes

3.If stains are stubborn spray more vinegar and wait a while longer

4.Scrub lightly with a soft sponge or cloth and rinse

Sometimes stains are extra stubborn – for this make a paste of white vinegar and baking soda and scrub gently with a soft brush or sponge. Never use an abrasive cleaner like scouring pads, powders or steel wool as this will scratch the surface.

I imagine most of the solutions are going to be to use some kind of dilute acid, to break down the calcium deposits that are making the scum.

There is a huge range of weak acids available for this, from vinegar, through citric acid as used in kettle descalers etc. They all work, but the price/performance varies a lot.

If it's a real issue, and you regularly need to remove limescale, I'd recommend getting a big tub of Fernox DS3 from your local plumbing suppliers. For a few quid you get 2Kg of sulphamic acid (NOT sulphuric!) which will probably last a lifetime, and can take the scale off of anything from kettles, to bath tiles, to showers.

    Works for me.

Purple Power (available at most auto parts stores) is great for cleaning just about everything!! Spray on shower doors, and let sit for a few minutes, wipe off. Then follow with a Windex type product.

Use a cheap shampoo with a nylon body scrubber (puff) to clean your glass doors whilst you are having a shower. It works wonders, and you really don't need expensive chemicals.

The best thing to use is white vinegar.
