Could I have anemia ?

I feel tired all the time and very sleepy, I don't go to bed late I usually go to bed at 10 and wake up at 5:30 or 6. I get tired very easily for example If I walk to the corner store to buy something and then walk back I feel soo tired and I start breathing really fast and I feel dizzy. Also if I'm sitting down and then get up I get a headache and get so light headed to the point where I feel like I'm about to faint. There are also times in which I'm the only one in the house wearing a sweater because I fell really cold even though everyone else says it's not cold. About two years ago I was going to donate blood but they told me I couldn't because I didn't have enough calcium in my blood, do you think I could still have low calcium in my blood and that's why I feel like this or do you think it's anemia ?

The symptoms you present cannot really provide a definitel diagnose until you go in and see your doctor, however there is a couple of things that I suspect.

Firstly, to confirm you have anemia you need to get blood work and determine the iron levels in your blood.

Calcium usually is a major component for bone and too little calcium could cause you to have muscle weakness.

I think you might have low blood pressure due to the extensive dizzyness episodse you experience. Also your extremities are cold, this is becasue your heart is not strong enough (not enough volume in your body) to pump enough blood into your fingers and toes, thats why you feel cold.

Try to increase water intake as well as increase your Na (salt intake). Measure your blood pressure, normal pressure is around 120/80 (systolic/diastolic)

Also, are you taking any medications? Certain medications can make you feel tired and lower your blood pressure.

I have a anemia, and you may not or you may have anemia, but you don't have very many symptoms although being tired is one. Your iron is very low. You need to eat more beef meats, and vegetables to get it back to normal. Also go to your doctor and ask for medicine that can help higher your iron. I've been though this before. To know that you have anemia, you have to be very cold just about all the time, and sometimes it causes your iron to drop. Other symptoms are caused by blood loss, or decreased or faulty of red blood cell production. So yes there is a possibility that you are anemia, but got to your doctor just to be sure. Good Luck!

Your purple blood cells include a substance known as Hemoglobin (which comes from the phrase "Heme" which means iron). Hemaglobin is made from iron, thus your purple blood cells are particularly made from iron.
