You owe what you owe, even though the property was removed from your possession, although a 55" TV is rather big to have stolen. You ultimately OWE for it. But, inform them by letter (certified) and by phone you wish no more contact elsewise but by mail, they are required and duty bound by law to abide with this. If they do call your place of employment, note this, and if it continues bring a civil case against them, since a small claims case this would be. It's a certain monetary amount per incident I believe. But you still OWE the money due unto them, or the property.

If you haven't already, file a police report. Unless it was insured for theft, you must continue to pay. It was in your possession and under your ownership when it was stolen, so Aaron's does not hold any responsibility for the item. Sorry. Maybe you can work something out to help you with the payment plan, but can't get away with not paying.

What makes you think you can stop paying just because you don't have the TV any more? You are are responsible for the safe keeping of the TV, read the contract and you will see this. If you have household insurance that covers theft you can claim from your insurer, assuming that you didn't leave your windows or doors unlocked. Otherwise you're screwed.

do you have renters insurance, or homeowners insurance that will cover the cost of the tv?
