How do you share a printer on a home network with two desktop computers, one on ME and the other on XP?

Just go to Printers and Fax where the printer is installed and then right click on that and click on sharing and then access the printer which is shared from other computer. But make sure the N/w is connected with each other and just make the printer as a default printer in both systems.

Make sure the 2 computers are networked first of all. Second, make sure the printer is installed on one of the computers and working...
Then you got to share the printer by going control panel, then printers. Find your printer, right click and then properties. Then click the sharing tab and share it...
To add the printer on the other computer, you can either use the add printer wizard to connect or click start, then run (Or press the windows key on your keyboard along with R) to bring up the small 'Run' dialogue screen. Then type 2 back slashes (\\) followed by the computer name of which the printer is connected e.g. \\PrinterPC
Hopefully you will then get a window pop up with the name of the shared printer in it. Try double clicking the printer to see if it install...
You may need to get additional printer drivers as the XP drivers could be different to the ME ones...

Unless the printer is network capable (having either wireless or ethernet connections) you'll need to have the printer shared - preferably on the XP machine. (right click on it in the printer control panel and share) on the ME machine (heaven help you) you'll need to add the network printer. I haven't used ME/98 since the Clinton Administration....
