Bridal weight loss and weight management?
You would think having my dress in teh closet would keep me on track but no, I"ve gained weight since I bought it. and it fit so perfectly I did not need alterations. Well 235 days to go!
What are your weight loss and managements tips and plans for your wedding?

Easy
1) Measure your food.....all prepackaged food tells you what a serving is, and all calorie charts do the same....if it says a serving is 1/2 cup (level, not heaping) then That is what it is.
2) keep a food diary--write down every thing you eat and how much & when...reviewing it you can determine how you are sabotaging yourself.
3) Brisk walking...the overall health benefits are great...do 20 minutes every day for 6 days a week at a good clip (strolling doesn;t count) it'll retard the munchy urge, aid digestion & overall circulaton,you will tone from it...and you'll sleep better
4) Sleep at least 7-8 hours every night...research tells us that lack of enough sleep can result in weight gain!
5) drink a big glass of water just before your meal and eat slowly so your stomach can register that you are full when you are really full...the mouth can chew & swallow faster than the stomach can say 'Full' which is why people tend to over eat then end up very, very uncomfortable.
6) Up your fiber....go easy at first...fiber will fill you faster than over-processed foods and your colon will love you for it...for example switch from white rice to brown...leave the skins on potatoes...even the mashed ones. Lotsa dark leafy green veggies and steam 'em-saves the nutrients and doesn't add calories...retains the yummy taste, too. Avoid over-processed and empty calorie foods too.
7) An apple a day may not keep the Dr. away but it's a healthy snack and will curb the ol afternoon snack-attack!
8) Stay away from diet soda...empty calories and evidence is in that the artifical sugar causes an abnormal sweet craving which can sabotage the dieting....

Here is a random thought. How about setting a goal to run in a 5k, triathlon, Century Bike Ride, a masters swim competition, or other event a few weeks before your wedding.
You don't want it to be too close to the wedding, because never know what will come up in those final few weeks. I realize a ton of your time is taken up planning for the wedding, but this would give you a good goal. You will naturally lose weight without even thinking about it.
Plus you might find that you enjoy something new and keep healthy habits long past your wedding day.

I've been a dieter off and on for many years so my impending wedding is just a bit of extra motivation this time. And I feel like if I can get a significant amount of weight off that I would be more likely to keep it off.
I joined Weight Watchers and am having moderate success. I'm down about 15 pounds. To reach my ideal weight I need to lose about 60 but I'll be happy to be down 30 by the time the wedding rolls around 10/31/2009 - - I feel it is a realistic goal and that the wedding is added motivation. But the wedding is not the "finish line". I've dieted in the past and I feel that this just gives me a timeline to reach a particular goal, but it is not the reason for my weight loss.
I want to be healthier. Its a bonus to look better than I have in years on my wedding day, but that isn't the primary goal.

I've been soooo stressed about losing weight to look "perfect" on my wedding day (in January). I also started working on losing weight about 5 months ago, and so far have only lost 35 lbs. It's frustrating. The closer I get to my wedding day, the more I tend to just blow my diet. The good thing is that I haven't gained any weight back. I do the following: I eat sensible meals, such as grilled chicken or fish with a salad and steamed veggies for dinner. I have healthy food during the daytime for my other meals. I have an eliptical trainer at home that I use, along with going for a swim in my pool at least 3x per week. Other than that, I allow myself to eat what I want on the weekends. I realize that if I ate healthy on the weekends, I would be losing weight instead of just maintaining it. But it goes to show you that if you simply want to maintain your weight after losing some like I have, this is the way to go. Good luck to you sweetie. I'm cheering for you!!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

My answer is similar to Pilster's (see above). I signed up for a 12-week training program that prepared me for a 5K run. Mind you, I had NEVER been a runner before. But it was a cool class, through my local running/walking store (Fleet Feet), and it was meant for beginners. We started out mostly walking, with short running intervals. Gradually, we ran more and walked less. The best part was meeting all the other women in the class. It was really motivating to go every time.
I also started eating reasonable meals. It seems like such common sense, but it's so easy to forget! For example, if I was really hungry and had NO food with me, I would go to Taco Bell. But instead of getting a meal (like the old me would), I would just order a chicken soft taco. It did not fill me up, but it definitely made me "not hungry" anymore. Then I'd eat a normal meal when I got home.
Last thing -- have you tried the Fiber One bars? Man, they taste good! And they have lots of fiber (obviously) so they are filling. In a pinch, I would eat one of these instead of breakfast.

I bought my dress one size too small in December (last year) and 2 months later it did not fit at all (was 2 sizes too small)! So I hired a personal trainer in Feb. (wedding was in April) and basically did cardio 5 times a week for at at least an hour and trained with the trainer 3 times a week and lived off basically chicken, green veggies, brown rice, (tuna if you like it, I don't...so I used canned chicken), muscle milk light, low fat cottage cheese, basically high protein, low fat, low carb. And by my fitting 8 weeks later I had lost the 2 dress sizes I needed to.
