Do you think Gore is secretly relieved that he wasn't President?

Given all of the events of the last 8 years - 9/11, war in Iraq/Afghanistan, the economic downturn, and given that George W. Bush has one of the lowest approval ratings ever -

In hindsight, do you think Gore thinks he could have done a better job as president, or is he secretly relieved that he didn't have to deal with all that? Do you think he's still sore over the 2000 election, or does he see it as a blessing in disguise?

(I'm not saying 9/11 wouldn't have happened if Gore were elected - that's a separate, debatable issue...)

Update:

EDIT: Please read the question carefully. I said that I'm NOT asking whether 9/11 would have happened. I'm asking you to speculate about Al Gore's possible resentment or relief about not being elected, given the performance and approval ratings of George W. Bush.

And Crafty, this question refers to the 2000 election, not the 2004 election. Kerry ran in 2004.

I think Gore was relieved he wasn't elected. He has made a fortune promoting his global warming propaganda, creating "green" companies for investments and is hoping for democratic supported legislation that will make him even richer. I don't believe he would have been an effective president during a terrorist attack.

Bush has been crapped on more than any other president I can think of over 911 and no; I doubt very much Gore would have any better Idea of what to do in this situation. If that geek was president I bet Saddam would still be in power.

9/11 would probably still have happened. The Afghanistan war to go after Osama would probably still have happened, but I doubt if Gore would have gone off into Iraq. We may still have ended up in Iraq, but I think it could have been handled a lot better than how "W" rushed in.

No. I think he's still being a whiny little bltch about it. He still makes snide comments that the election was stolen, that the popular vote should determine the winner, that the Republicans cheated, that he was the true winner. Everything he says is wrong. The Republicans didn't cheat, popular vote shouldn't entirely determine the winner since that would always leave the wins to the big states, and the system did exactly what it was intended and designed to do. I not so secretly am glad he wasn't president.

I don't think Gore wanted to be President at all or he would have fought the 2004 results instead of just giving up before the votes were counted. I will never forgive him for that.

He would have never started the Iraq war.

I think he's pissed. I'm not sure there would have been a 9/11 if he was president. At least if there was I know he would have caught the guy who did it. Before pulling out early to go fight an unrelated war to show up his father.

I think if Gore was President we wouldn't have ever gone to Iraq. That's a good thing if you ask me. I think he would have kept the focus on Bin Laden and not use the ol' WMD distraction.

I don't know how Al Gore feels about it, but If I were him I would be dancing a jig!
