the reason i asked is because i'm wondering this. is it true that if more people buy a stock, the share price would raise? If so, investors with big money can affect the market price because they seek the small gain to make big money. so it is even possible to coordinate people to get a lot of money to buy and when it raises, then sell within a trading day. So if a person has equivalent amount of money he/she then therefore to control the market? if its true,why would corporation or big companies fail? because they can just do this every time they see an opportunity right? back to my original question, does anyone have the power to control the price of a stock?

They can't "control" the price but they can affect the price. To control the price they would have to buy all of it and then what would the point be?
I get faxes all the time that are stock sheets about a particular stock. Telling you how good the company is and you should buy it now etc. The way they work is these guys buy a bunch of shares then send out these "information" sheets. When people start buying it the price goes up. They then sell all their shares and make a bunch of money then stock goes down and you lose.
