Why are people so ignorant when it comes to politics?

With Barack Obama on the verge of becoming president I observed a few things prior to this today, while out today, I saw 2 people chatting, a black male and a white male, the white male questioned the black male why he voted for Obama and not McCain, the black male said that "McCain loves war" How can you back up a statement like that? "He's stupid too"

Upon seeing this I came to the conclusion that.

Majority of the population doesn't vote on policies anymore.

I will say this, for everyone who voted for Obama.

People deserve the government they get.

Think about that in a year or so.

Especially those that make 100k+ as a family, just wait for it.

Update:

People get the government they vote for.

You might like it now, wait a few years.

When you see that paycheck shrink and your 401k dissolve.

I also find it quite funny that individuals say they want a socialist society and they have never been to a socialist economy. Dreamers and thinkers. To the individual that said he was well educated. I think im going to just sit back and let your tax dollars take care of my lazy butt, it seems your so educated you know exactly how to take care of every situation, so please feed me.

I am a very well educated person, and I voted for Obama because McCain has no timeline to withdraw our troops. And McCain would be horrible for women's rights and the environment. I'm not throwing my vote for someone who didn't learn from Exxon Valdez that oil has no place in the ocean. I'm also not voting for someone who thinks I don't deserve to make the same amount of money as a man because he thinks I'm"not as motivated." So let me ask you this. If you are a patriot, then why aren't you willing to pay into your country? How can we fund the war and the bail out without raising taxes or borrowing more from China? I'm not being mean, I want an honest answer.

Know this, well some educated McCain Lovin lawyers got their pink slips because the "corporation" needs to cut back. Do you think Mickey C will give them a job? Doubt it.

But really smart people think the country will go to hell with Obama as President...guess what we're already in hell the only way is UP!

"Why are people so ignorant when it comes to politics?"

    Great question: what's your excuse?

From reading your post, I would say the problem lies with gullible people believing what their pundits have fed them without actually doing some research and thinking for themselves.

But I think you've got a wonderful set of right-wing talking points. Save them for the next election, maybe they'll work next time...

I will give you credit. As far as Obama's tax plan goes, I've never seen anybody be as wrong as you. If there was an award given for wrongness, you'd be the recipient. If there was a town called Wrong, you'd be king. If there was a holiday called Wrongmas, you'd be Santa Claus.

I think you get my point...

because of the fact human beings in straightforward terms pay interest to the main significant flow media, that's bias. If I in straightforward terms watched ABC, CBS or NBC information - i could be a lib too. although, i like to get the backstage memories that they do no longer look after. Do you think of that between the community information institutions could have uncovered Ward Churchill? No - he'd been doing it for years! It took invoice O'Reilly to hold the information out. this happens repeatedly returned. human beings turn on the television and anticipate what they're listening to is the full fact, and not something however the reality.

Wow. 100K a year? Nobody I know makes 100K a year. Which is probably why all of us voted for Obama. I've seen my paycheck shrink and I don't even have a 401K these last 8 years. I've watched the super rich grow even richer and the middle class disappear. I've watched families struggle to make ends meet. I've watched people make the choice between buying gas or buying food.

You know who put us here? The guys who still think trickle-down economics work.

So, from all of us down here in the working class, that's a big one to you, buddy.

If someone like Bill Clinton had to use the military to intervene several times in disputes around the world you can bet Obama at some point in his term will have to make a decision to put our military men and women in harms way. It's a fact of life. Freedom always has to be defended.

Radical terrorists don't suddenly turn peaceful due to which man is elected President of America.

Obama has won fair and square. Not that I like it but it was inevitable. This set up perfectly for him. Let's see if he is a man of his word. Dems will now have the full responsibility of all the problems and they will have no one to blame but themselves. This could actually be fun to watch.

It's because of the indoctrination and training our children get at the hands of the liberal media, liberal school teachers, and from watching more television in a day than they spend on school work in a week.

The Democrats want young dumb people who will grow up, go to work and do their jobs without question, come home pop a six-pack, and watch sports on their wide screen. None of it to require thought. Then once every four years believe every dumb thing the Democratic candidate tells you and just vote for them. This is especially true for inner city schools.

What's even worse is the number of people who voted for obama only because they saw what they thought was a "black" man, which he isn't. There were a number of blacks on Howard Stern who said they thought obama did a good job of picking Sara Palin as his running mate. I think that pretty much says it all.

McCain does not love war. He loves freedom. Obama did not win because people are ignorant, he won because he ran a first class campaign and the economy is in a mess. Folks wanted a change. McCain would have won had the economy not tanked in September.

oh, it will be lower than 100K..it will be EVERYONE! Remember, we have to spread the wealth, not just in this country, but GLOBALLY. Nothing like cranking up the tax and spend machine in the middle of a recession. I firmly believe the majority of the people in this country are either a) stupid or b) stoned. I also think the voting requirements should include HAVING A JOB AND PAYING TAXES.

Duh. Look man, I've been doing this for a long time. All it does is eat you up inside and piss you off. At least the elected officials and the people on the payrolls get to dress up and go to events and get beers and hookers or whatever. I just sit in a library or watch CSPAN or the local news. Sure I know stuff, but what good does it do me when people just piss me off. I guess you have to learn to be patient and do what people expect of you.
