I don't believe Americans did anything noble. I believe that the moronic "undecideds" who were scared into voitng for Bush in '04 were hyped and charmed into voting for Obama this time around. Don't get me wrong, Im glad they did. Just a theory

It was the McCain campaign that was engaging in hype -- fear-mongering and hate-mongering, lying hype.
The voters rejected that.

Correct. There are no "independents" in this world. Just cowards. People who are afraid of making a choice and then living with the results. Driven by fear, they act and choose according to what feels nice or secure. Emotional reaction rather than intellegent response.
