Is anyone else truly sickened....?

by the amount of racism on Y!A?

Our new president is not white....so what? If you think that he was voted for just because is black/bi-racial (whatever you want to call him to make yourself feel better) you are ignorant. Our country is in trouble and would have voted in what ever democrat that was running. We are in a different time now. People are tired of the way that our country has gone in the last 8 years. Get over yourselves and help your country heal. I am ashamed to be a part of this forum if it is full of so many racists. This saddens me immensely. I am a proud American and am truly excited for our future now.

How many of you are with me?

Yes, but the anonymity that allows this kind of crud to come out is actually good.

Many who wish to bury their head in the sand like to pretend that racial bile and hatred are an artifact of the past, and that there is no more work that needs to be done on equality in our society, just wind up looking foolish in the light of the nonsense that get peddled by so many.

This helps to put that misconception to rest. We've come a long way, true, but this shows how far we still have to go, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. An ugly thing, yes, bad that we have to do it, yes, but good that it's there in the open for us to see.

  • The good news is that the majority of the country is NOT rasict and that is why Obama became president. The biggots on here are just a small, sad example of the few who are HORRIBLY ignorant.

Your right hes not white... nor is he Black... he is biracial..a young man who knows what being poor is.. not raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. Someone who can see things from the point of view of the average man and woman. and was elected because it was the peoples choice. I liked what he had to say... McCain made a fool of himself.. we are done with BUSH he destroyed this country and McCain is his clone, I lost the little respect I had for McCain when I saw him on Saturday Night Live... come on you idiot.. was bad enough for your VP chick to do it... its a COMEDY show and he goes on there and makes fun of himself. He was running for PRESIDENT...

I could care less what color skin our President has. Skin color doesn't matter! Obama was not my choice, but the American people have spoken and he is in. I hope he does well and he and his family are safe.

I'm with you. Consider the source. I'm not too worried about them. They will believe only what they want to believe. They are not enlightened.
