Question about the NL Gold Gloves?
All of the NL Outfielders that won are center fielders....it seems like they would have to pick one center fielder, one right and one left fielder. Why is this not the case. I mean I know the outfielders switch positions sometimes, but not that often.
btw...Randy Winn should have won one...although I am biass being a Giants fan..lol

Rawlings (the award sponsor and administrator) has never made a distinction between outfield positions. All are thrown into one "outfield" bucket, and the top three vote-getters win the Gloves (except in 2007, when there was a tie for third place and four OF GGs were awarded).

Ya as a giants fan Randy Winn was great in right field and deserved a gold glove as much as the players who won it. I think most outfield gold gloves go to centerfielders becuase thats the toughest outfield position, but I agree with you.

Ya I think Winn you should of gotten the award over Victorino. Victorino plays well but Randy Winn played Right Field so good for the Giants. I think its cuz the centerfielder has to cover more ground, and they are considered the "captains" of the outfield.

All outfielders are put together. They don't separate them left, center and right because a lot of outfielders play all or two of the positions. In the allstar voting its just outfield there is no difference from left, center or right by the voting.

Because corner OF'ers aren't known for their defense,their mainly out they because their defense sucks and they have a good bat...BTW it makes me laugh how all these idiot Mets fans keep saying Reyes should of won GG over Rollins when Reyes had 10 more errors then Rollins,morons.

I agree with you about Winn getting the award over Victorino. I also don't think Rollins deserved it, should've gone to Jose Reyes.

because the coaches pick people but they can't be on their own team
and it doesn't matter what position they play if the coach thinks they have a really good glove they vote for them
