If hair loss is due to excess DHT hormone, can balancing it regain the lost hair?

To much protein, and high caffeine diet can increase the DHT hormone level which can also destroy hair. If we lower the amount of protein and caffeine intake, will it balance the DHT level and can the hair re-grow?

I have never heard of anyone able to balance the DHT level by lowering the amount of protein and caffeine. High amount of protein which could possibly cause hair loss usually comes from protein shakes or creatine taken for muscle building. It would be much ideal to try and control your DHT levels by either using Minoxidil (i would however suggest visiting a physician before you take it) or otherwise a natural product such as Saw Palmetto which is all natural and without any side effects and does the same job. To find more about DHT and how Saw palmetto helps in controlling it, you can visit the link specified in the source.

If you have male pattern baldness and the DHT hormone is the culprit, you cannot do anything about it after the hair is lost. You can have hair transplant.

The only way to solve the hair loss problem on a permanent basis is to be castrated before you have the hair loss, BUT the side affects are not what you would want. (This was told to me by a dermatologist when I went to him for hair loss)

Suggest you go to a dermatologist for a blood test to be sure your problem is DHT.

B's vitamins found in proteins are good for the hair, as for the DHT, i think in theory cutting back should work and lower it BUT you need to get the sebum which is clogging your hair follicles off your scalp. So look for a shampoo that claims for remove it such as Nioxin.

DO not take Saw Palmetto. It is very estrogenic and will increase the amount of estrogen in your body. For women, you will suffer from estrogen-overload a.k.a PMS, cystic breasts, and for men, you will grow breast tissue a.k.a Gynecomastia / Man-boobs.
