Is a civil union ok with the gay community or does it have to be called marriage?

I believe in equal rights. I don't believe we have to say it is the same as a marriage of a man and a woman

It doesn't have to be called marriage. A civil union is giving equal rights to gay couples which is what the gay community has been fighting for all this time, but eventually I think it will be called marriage b/c in essence that is what will be happening. In addition it will probably eventually be called marriage because thats what everyday people will call it, I doubt people are going to say that their gay friends got "unionized" or anything like that. I think whether or not it ends up getting called marriage depends more so on the people and what they decide, I mean look at how many words that were once called slang are in the dictionary now....
