Poor losers, how about poor winners?
I see republicans asking questions if they would rather have Bush or Obama and all of a sudden a bunch of hateful things start popping up from democrats, when the question isn't even addressed to them!!
If all you want to do is cause further divide, keep doing it, if you truly want to unite, let the poor losers be poor losers, but please.
Be gracious winners.
Can we all do that?
No one wants to fight for the greater good, why should I be any better?

I have very strange sleeping habits due to medical reasons. I was awake from about 5:30 pm Monday, Nov 3 and stayed up until after the election 3:30am Wed. Nov 5. When I woke up again it was 6pm later that day. (Just a little back story before my answer lol)
I woke up, having missed most of the days commentary and news about the night before historic election and I come here. And you are right. I have seen my fellow democrats (I'm actually registered unaffiliated) acting poorly. I expected the republicans to act poorly, because they just lost. It's understandable. But to the democrats...did you NOT watch Obama's speech last night? I'm with you on the glee, but let's keep that celebrating to ourselves...other democrats. Let's not sink down to nastiness. You are only serving to divide us further, and that's not helping the cause. We really have to do our part, not just take for granted that things will work. It's going to take all of us. Let the republicans vent for a few days. I will admit some of the republican responses though are beyond angry. They are hateful and full of vile. I feel sorry for them because they are misguided and uninformed. I'd love to argue with them, but what's the point? It's just going to waste my time and energy. There have been plenty of extremely gracious 'losers' posting congratulatory messages. And I say 'losers' because those people actually demostrated they are winners by being the bigger person and THEY are putting country first. THEY are willing to come together immediately and unite, to at least try.
So a call to all my fellow Obama supporters, don't involve yourself with the petty attacks. Yes, we were attacked before the election, and we attacked back, but its over. Now the real work starts.

I really don't understand this question and I don't understand any of the answers. Obama won. It was a historical election. Obama is backed by some very respected people -- how in heavens name could he be such an "evil" person (as some Republicans describe him) if respected Republicans like him? Even McCain clearly has respect for Obama. Why can't people just get over the fact that McCain lost? Do they really think that the election was rigged and that's why Obama won? Come on....that's such a really unreasonable thing to assert. I have tremendous respect for John McCain -- he's a very admirable man -- but it was time for a change in the White House.

People are ideologues who can't get past their issues. Some people will hate and be bitter. I think those are the sad few, not the majority, in each party. Those of us who have better things to think about than more insults can have civilized discussions, and let the rest of them spew their ignorant garbage to each other.
I did not vote for Obama. I do not agree with him. But he is now the leader of the greatest country in the world, and to me that demands respect. I will not hope that he fails just so I can look smarter than someone else. I will not disrespect him. I will hope that he does improve out country and unite us. I love my country and ALWAYS want what is best for it. And I want to have civilized, intelligent discussions with people who don't believe the same as I do, because we can learn from each other and be open-minded, even if we disagree in opinion.
Let the immature ones go on making themselves look immature.

Well lets see...your party ran an awful dirty campaign, and all I've heard on yahoo answers the past 6 months is how Obama is a terrorist Muslim extremist from the Republicans. And oh yea, I heard from a lot of you guys that it was going to be a landslide for McCain, and all I said was wait and see....so now, where's your landslide? It's on the other side of board my friends. I do not want to divide the country anymore, but my good lord, some of the things Ive heard on here the past 6 months...it makes you realize why McCain and all of his supporters lost this election. I will unite whenever the Republican party realizes that they can be wrong sometimes, and that the Democrats aren't always to blame.

I can only be gracious after seeing some justice done for the Wall Street debacle, the false war, the 6 + trillion added to the national deficit--Interest alone nearly half of all personal income taxes in '09. Never seen the country dragged down so far in such a short and thoughtless period of time. I don't want it ever to happen again- put 'em in jail where they belong! Then, I'll calm down. I'll be gracious. Merely making nice after such enormous crimes is for sheep. Sheep did not build this country. Intelligence and appropriate action should keep this from ever happening again.

I think the problem is that the Obama supporters dont support any particular political views, and his opponents chiefly oppose his personality. There is some wild stuff going on in government that we should focus on. By the way, i love heritage.org. They are a conservative group, but the most factually reliable source I have come across.

You are right we should be gracious winners but the poor losers make that difficult with their constant crying and still taking stabs at democrats and president elect. If you guys can keep your mouths shut, believe me we will. Democrats are happy and celebrating, the last thing we want is to be bickering and answering those same old dull questions that we answered all last week and last month, PEACE!!!!!!

Yesterday I was not myself, but today, after thinking about what has happened I am amused.
With the state of the economy, a very inexperienced president elect who will be going into the deep end of the pool for the first time in his life. He was a senator for 144 days and now we have to see if he up to the job of president?
This is like taking the mail room clerk and promoting him to be president of a major company. LOL, and I am sorry for this, but please don’t blame me, I voted for McCain.

There was a time when I would have been gracious about winning.
But the repubs have been talking so much trash leading up to this election, that I am mad as hell and I want them to choke on our victory.
Sorry, you asked.
PS, Red (the first person to answer) is a classic example of a trash talking republican.
