My daughter & friends find one girl annoying and her mom and I are friends what should we do?

My 10 yr, old daughter hangs out with a group of 5 other girls,one of whom she and the rest of the girls find annoying and clingy. This girl's mom and I are very close friends. My daughter told this girl in a nice way that she can be very annoying, but that just made her try harder to fit in. I told my daughter she should just accept this girl as she is. I suggested that when this girl follows my daughter and her best friend to try and take turns each one spending alone time with the girl to make her feel included. My daughter doesn't like any of my ideas. To complicate matters I'm really good friends with this girls mom and we used to all get together. This has been happening the last few weeks so I haven't called my friend. Really don't know what to do about this.
