Classic Car Rain Leak RAIN EXPECTED HELP!!!!!!?
Ok so I have a 1967 Volvo 122s (Amazon) that is sitting outside and I am in the midst of restoring it. My dad made me move it out of the garage this weekend so we can move our firewood in to stay dry for the winter. The last time I left it in the rain, the inside carpets were SOAKED with water and it took over 3 weeks to dry up, even with the doors open. It is expected to rain here tomorrow, and they're saying thunderstorms. Does anyone have a possible low cost solution that would extinguish my qualms about my baby getting waterlogged and rusty, and fast?!

You should be able to pick up some kind of a car cover fairly reasonable. Check out Craigslist, you may be able to get a cheap used one, or even free. I'm sure that they would be rain resistant. By the way, I love old Volvos. Good luck!

Covering it when rain pours is one way of keeping it dry, but that is just temporary. Let's say it's time for a science experiment. Remove the soaked carpet and let it air dry. Then pour water on the car, one area at a time. This will show where the leak is. If it's small, plug it with a silicone gel. If it's too big, have it patched up by acetylene or welding, or a body filler. A paint job repair might be needed in this case. Goodluck!

Usually leaks come from windows. Where the glass meets the body there will be some kinda seal. weather it be a rubber seal or a silicone gasket. To do the right job I would advise removing the window and resealing it

Have you thought of just putting a tarp or a big sheet of plastic over it?
