Lets see how Semper fidelis, our men & women truly are.?
The military generally votes Republican, but this time Obama has won. If you scan yahoo answers you will see people still bashing Obama even thou they haven't given him a chance. Obama will soon be your new commander and chief, will you under take your oath to this nation and but aside your political views and respect your new C & C? or will your blind devotion to a withering political party over take your duty. I understand you serve the country not the man, but a respect for the chain of command is generally asked of a solider. Which means not bad mouthing your commanding officer in front of other military men. I'm sick of the politics I will be the first one to stand up and say I made a mistake if he does a bad job. But he hasn't even started..don't we owe him an opportunity to do his job before we jump to conclusions.

The members of the military serve the Constitution. The President is their commander in chief so they will obey orders.
However - they will remember how Obama tried to throw a squad of innocent Marines under a bus over the 'Haditha Massacre.' How can the military trust him when he has shown that he will not stand up for them?

There is no doubt. The military are professionals. We serve our country and we do our job to the best of our ability. It doesn't matter who is the Commander in Chief.....we continue to do our job and earn our pay. A Marine, soldier, sailor, airman goes where he is told and does what he is paid to do. Our lives a on the line for our country not for one man who happened to win an election. The great thing about living in a democracy is that in 4 years we get to do it all over again.

The Oath of Enlistment (for enlistees):
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
The Oath of Office (for officers):
"I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance tot he same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God."

I was sent to war by a President I didn't vote for and didn't agree with at all. It didn't make a bit of difference to how I did my duty. I took an oath to defend the Constitution and to follow the lawful orders of my officers. I didn't fight for the President or the flag or any religion, not even my own. I fought for my brothers and for my own sense of honor and duty.
Any active serving military man or woman who fails to do their duty because of their like or dislike of a given politician is a fool and possibly a traitor.

No blind devotion. Just more faith in someone with a military background and long political history than some guy off the street with neither.
I serve my country, not the guy in office. He may be my boss, but he's not why I'm here.
HOOAH!

We have to put aside our thoughts. He's the boss man now. Or will be in Jan.
PS it is Commander IN Chief

whats funny is how people like you outside of the military are the ones making a issue out of this non issue..as if i have to explain my faithfulness to you..give me a break please..i sure hope you have earned the right to use those words..or or you just out here for attention.?
and to clue you in on something here..your question is a mute one because our oaths have been taken long ago..we do not take a new oath every election..so if you get your head out of your *** you will see your question was answered before you asked it..amazing how that works isnt it?

Nope, new boss, i quit.
Seriously dude? what do you think? obviously we're still going to do the same job. My devotion is to my country, not necessarily to the leader. Chill on the suspicion for real. We don't need to prove anything to you.
