can you mix pain killers?

if you take two ibuprofen, then take aleve about four hours later, then take another aleve an hour after the first, but the pain is still there, is there anything you should take to get rid of the pain? it is still there and very annoying. will the mix that you have taken before be bad?

Update:

this is my friend. she went to the dentist and they tightened her braces and it hurt like a mother as she says. she took the ibuprofen at ten, the first aleve at two, the next one at three. and no she is not looking to kill herself, she just wants her teeth to stop hurting.

The most important thing to remember though, is that over the counter drugs are not without their risks. They have warning labels for a reason, and the same goes with properly prescribed drugs given to you by your doctor. Tens of thousands of people die every year from prescription drug complications, with many more severely injured. The possible dangers of prescription drugs only highlights the risk of over the counter medications, because many OTC products were formerly prescription-only, or remain so at higher dosages.

So please, please, please take medication seriously. Know the possible side effects of anything you're taking so you can be alert to unusual symptoms. The vast majority of people won't experience serious side effects, and even in those cases permanent damage is atypical, but you can reduce your risk significantly just by taking the time to ask your doctor or pharmacist a few extra questions about drug safety.

i agree with you when you say that

    pain is annoying

    ibuprofen-800 for myself

seems to work and take the pain away

    most of the time

the ibuprofen-that you get in the stores doesn't seem to work as

well as the ibp that you get precribed by a doctor.

when you do take ibp - make sure you have something in your stomach- like milk if you don't you'll usually just get sick

you shouldn't try to mix any major pain killers

DON'T TAKE ANYMORE PAIN KILLERS! what kind of pain is it?

if it's a tooth ache or ear ache you probably need antibiotics.

Those both have the same base medicine in them. Ibuprofen. You can take Tylenol related products with it. It contains acetaminophen. If you look at all your pain meds and don't mix two with the same active ingredient you are fine. Hope this helps.

depends on the strengths, they are almost the same products,an anti inflammatory,so check what the time space it should be to take these.

you could try creams on the painful area or another painkiller such as Tylenol,or even aspirin
