If you get a DUI in another state, does it affect you in the state that you live in?
A friend of mine, lives in New Hampshire and was traveling through Massachusetts, recently. It was late at night and she got pulled over and charged with a DUI. She spent 2 hours in jail and then got bailed out. She was supposed to show up in court in Mass the next morning, and she never did. While she was in jail, the Mass police told her that the charge will only affect her driving in Mass and she will not loose her license in NH. She was also told that if she doesnt show up in court, that Mass will not come to NH to get her.
My question is...If she gets stopped by the cops in NH and they look up her driving record, can the cops arrest her in NH for the Mass charge? She is going to call a lawyer about this on Monday, but was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this??
I AM NOT LOOKING FOR ANY SMART *** ANSWERS, SO IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING NASTY TO SAY, PLEASE KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.

Warrants for misdemeanors and traffic offenses are only valid in the state they are issued. Only felony warrants can be served in another state.
However, if she has her license suspended by Massachusetts, New Hampshire may recognize that, and suspend her also. She would have to contact NH DMV to see how that will affect her.
