Im scared for Barack Obama?
I am a huge supporter of Barack Obama, and the day after the election i wore a campaign sticker to school.
I live in a pretty conservative area, and kids at school were threatening me, calling me a communist, etc. Kids even tried to rip it off, and one kid was punching me until i would take it off (i didnt, im firm in my beliefs).
Then kids started saying I hope he gets assassinated. And they wernt even white supremacists or anything, they just really hate him.
I have even heard kids as young as 11 say those sorts of things.
I realize that Obama was always in danger, but now my fears are even bigger, because if kids think this way, imagine what adults think.
So anyway, your thoughts...
I know that the Secret Service will have a human shield around him at all times, but im still concerned.
And i am thrilled that the rest of the world supports us again, now that we only have 2 months left with Bush.
i stopped wearing the sticker, but only cuz the stickiness wore off
im not going to let others intimidate me and tell me what to believe
plus i told those that are extremely conservative:
you cant want Obama dead, and then call yourself pro-life
they didnt have a response to that one

You are wise beyond your years.
The country is very divided at the moment, and some supporters of McCain are bitter over his defeat at the hands of someone they thought was less qualified. Time will heal some of these wounds; God will have to take care of the rest.
In the meantime, the Secret Service is charged with protecting our presidents. The guys you see walking with presidents are the "tip" of a very large and extensive network. Trust that they are VERY good at their work.
In the meantime, for your own safety, don't wear the button. It is inviting trouble that you don't need. Barack will understand.

The other person's right -- Barack is a Kenyan name. Obama's dad was an African goat herder -- yet his family emigrated to America, he had a son, and that son grew up to go to one of the best law schools in the country, turned down job offers from big firms to do public interest work for low pay, worked as a community organizer, taught Constitutional Law, and now is the first black Presidential candidate. God Bless America! I'll take someone named Obama any day if it means he understands the American Dream (maybe better than people named Hillary or John do)!

Well he better make sure the secret service protects him.
It's been a long time since the last assasination attempt incident on a U.S. Pres.......I think they've gotten safer.
And given all the hatred corruption & tension GWB sparked with the Iraq war,
if he went 8 years without getting assasinated, that's probably a sign that the pres is safer.
But Obama better not let down his guard because he is a potential assasination target.

That's high school kids for you... I blame their parents.
Actually in my town, there's a lot of support for Barack Obama amongst the high schoolers, even the ones too young to vote. A lot of them came to school with the Obama shirts and stickers. Some of them did get harassed though, but not by other students but by the teachers who told them they were being disruptive. These very same teacher's were wearing McCain shirts. You'd THINK the people teaching your children would know better but I guess not. And the teacher's wonder why the students don't respect them...

I totally and completely agree with you.
I am a huge Obama supporter - when he was elected, i was near tears of joy! Just think - we're living history! I truly believe that he's going to be one of the best ever presidents.
People who think that he should die are cowards. They're scared of anything different than them, because they don't understand it. It's really inappropriate do disrespect him now, because first off, what can you do? and second, you should respect your President even if you don't support everything he does.
I think its absolutely fabulous that you have your own beliefs and are strong in them. Most kids just believe what ever they are told. Stay true to yourself!

The fruit doesn't fall too far from the tree that bore it. They are supremacist in the makings. People are still in shock by this election. I think the real reason why you brought this statement up is to get hateful remarks out of your fellow haters out there and you want to try and scare his supporters. President O'Bama is aware of the envious haters of the USA. If he was that much afraid, he would not have run for President of the USA. He wouldn't let stupid minded people get in his way or stop him from doing his job.

That is really sick. I hope you reported that to the school. I can't believe the hatred on here. Pathetic.
Don't worry about Obama. The secret service does their job very well. Think about how many people in the world would have liked GW dead, and he is still kicking.

Barack Obama will be fine.
Just remember that those racist people lost this election. Racism was defeated on a major stage for the first time so they are the ones in the minority now.
It has always been the other way around until Tuesday. So in theory we should be scared for the racist instead of Obama.

Nobody should be afraid...ever! RACISTS don't rule America. I'm proud of Obama and his achievements and the election. But, I will tell you that some RACISTs are out there...I saw on the news where a black family was driving to Grant Park in Chicago to hear Obama speak on election night...and white chicago police officers sprayed the family with MACE while riding in their police cruiser and called them racists slurs...That is absolutely disgusting and that demonstrates how MENTALLY CRAZY these folks really are.

John McCain's hate filled and subliminally distorted campaign fueled already existent racial tension. He never intended to take office and Sarah Palin was an unsuspecting and used puppet, whose defeat ultimately speaks to religious zealots who are readily willing to see Barack as the anti-Christ. The end result? Chaos. All the finger pointing at her, is part of this preconceived conspiracy. It deflects the idea from ever entering the people's minds that John McCain never intended to become President. He let his own people down...and in his own words..."his fault". Yes, he got that one right, although he never apologized. It's subliminal bullsh*t. Ever hear of elite secret societies? What you are witnessing is the aftermath of this conspiracy.
