Help! Interview today, and I look like I was beat up?

Of all the terrible timing...

I have a job interview this afternoon, and I fell on my face in the parking lot. It's bad...I'm all scraped up, and my busted-open lip is very swollen. Also, I don't feel comfortable covering any of it with makeup, since the wounds are so fresh.

How do I approach this? I think it's poor form to cancel an interview for anything that isn't life-or-death, but I'm sure the interviewer is going to be wondering what the deal is when I walk in with such an obvious injury.

Just acknowledge it and offer a brief explanation...that will show confidence! If you remain professional, the confidence you have in your abilities will outshine your beat up appearance...And try to ice your lip right before you go =)

    Good Luck!

It is best that you re-schedule it another day as it will be a mess to even try to explain to your prospective employer. They will cast a very suspicious look and will probably half-hearted listen to your explaination. It will be worse if you can't even put on a decent face and a convincing answer. All these factors worked against you.

On the other hand, if you think you can make them believe you. GO FOR IT. No pain no gain.

gut feeling: go for it and put on the most pathetic face in the world.

I'd go to the interview, and tell them right up front what happened. Try to make light of it.

depends what it is for. might be worth giving a call and postponing for a few days, say you had an accident etc if you can manage that

It should not be all that bad . Just be honest with them. It will be fine.
