2002 Saturn LW200: Should I buy it?

I'm getting mixed reviews of these cars. This one has 95K miles, but the last almost-30,000 aren't accounted for in the Carfax report. I really want a wagon or hatchback, but not one that's 15 years old or has 150K on it. What to do??

Update:

They're asking $5400 for the car. The comp. warranty (from Guardian) is another $2300. I have about $7000 to spend, total.

    Hi, whats your price range?

Saturns are usually solid cars. They're not the best in quality, but the LW200 should suit your needs. It's a 4 cylinder engine, so it will be ok on gas.

I would skip the warranty (too expensive) and negotiate the price to around $4800. Save the rest of the money for a rainy day when the car may need repairs.

You might have a grounding problem. The negative terminal of the battery is usually grounded to the engine block. Try unbolting the end of the cable that goes to the engine block and be sure you have good metal-to-metal contact. Also be sure to check for loose wires as the mechanic did, especially any that are grounded to the chassis. Again, be sure you have metal-to-metal contact on any wires that do so. I hope this helps!
