Recipe for leftover hush-puppies(Anyone)?

We have a whole bag of jalapeno hush-puppies and aren't to found of them. I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for a casserole or a simple meal that I could use them in. I thought about using them as bread crumbs for chicken/fish but I don't know if the batter would stay on. Thanks in advance!

Over here Hush Puppies are a brand of footwear. and I can't imagine you wanting to cook and eat them.

However I did a search for them and with what I think they are you could mush them up to a stuffing consistency and use in a turkey or chicken.

I would have my butcher de-bone a lamb leg, and butterfly the meat. With that laid out, I would spread it with the stuffing mix, roll and tie and then roast.

I hope you see what I am saying, and if it is feasable.

My husband and kids love Ham and Bean soup after the holiday. I learned how to make it from my grandfather growing up. You will need: leftover ham cut into small pieces a large onion diced 5 or 6 pieces of celery diced 1 bag great northern beans 2 cans of tomato soup a pinch of salt and pepper 1 ham bone 1 bag of carrots sliced in bite sized pieces Fill a stockpot about half way with water. Add the onion, celery, carrots, beans and ham bone in. Let cook on medium flame until beans are cooked well. then add the ham and cook an addition 30 minutes. Add the tomato soup and cook about 30 more minutes. And your done! This only takes one pot to make so clean up is fairly easy. And I make enough that we can have it for 2 nights. After you make it you can freeze the second nights worth, so another night you can have a home cooked meal without any prep work. This soup is very hearty and I serve it as a main meal with a nice garden salad on the side. Hope I helped, Enjoy your holiday and your meal!

Since they are basically corn bread, why not make corn bread dressing of them?

The jalapeno is going to make it a spicy dressing though, if you like that sort of things.

I am thinking instead of putting sage in the dressing, why not put cumin and make it have more of a Mexican taste? I would first saute a little garlic, onion and celery. Then add bit of water or milk or chicken broth and then smash it all up together and stuff a chicken or turkey.Add just enough liquid to make it dressing consistency. You could also lay chicken pieces on top of the stuffing too. Bake it.

I have never tried this but it may be a way you can eat it and it not go to waste.

Going to a bread crumb idea is best in in-corp a diff use. Cover a fish or Chicken with it. Either can handle some spice. Or use as a stuffing and wrap either the chicken/fish around and bake. Add some cheese.

Toss in the freezer, and use them to make your cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving. Chop them up, add sauteed veggies, chicken stock, boiled eggs, whatever seasonings you like, and bake.
