  • Would you share your Lottery winnings?

Our office puts in money every week for the lottery. We all give it to one person and he gets the tickets. Some of us wonder(hypothetically) what's from stopping him from just saying those were he personal tickets and ours didn't win. What if he changes his mind and doesn't share? Would it be hard for you to share if you were in his shoes?

  • What you would do if a potential employer asked you how much they should pay you?

I have a job that I(we) would love to have but after I refused to take straight commission(not in this economy) they asked me to do research and comeback with a figure for them. I already gave them my base pay and also pointed out I'm would be moving to a more expensive area of the country. My spouse would also have to quit his job and wait to be reemployed as well. The area I would be covering is not as profitable as the area I'm leaving. Should I just stick to base salary and forget commission or should I tell them to give me a figure and then counter offer. Thanks in Advance! Do employers typically do this or isn't it their job to figure what to offer?

  • How do you get a grandparent to stop undermining you as a parent?

We made a huge mistake and decided to move right across the street from my parents. Now everything would be fine if my parents weren't raising my sisters kids. But since they have raised them as grandchildren and not as there own the have become monsters. Our parental style involves love, respect, and discipline(nothing extreme but they get they get the point.) Well of coarse the cousins have issues with each other and just don't get along. My nieces are manipulative and just plain mean. The whole neighborhood can't stand them at their houses and none of the kids want to play with them. I brought this to my parents attention and they have just given up. We are moving in the Summer but now they try to find anything and everything to pick on about my family/kids/their other grandchildren. I has really becomes a huge problem and nasty words are being exchanged. I feel our family ties are coming undone and I'm not going to let my kids suffer the abuse by their cousins(verbally). After trying to explain a simple rule of buckle your seat belt or you don't ride in my car. I was then told I have an attitude and that my nieces are now to ignore me. Mature right? So now I don't take them anywhere. I can't avoid them because they are so close but I really want nothing to do with them until they realize they need to address these children's behavior. What should I do?

  • Help! 14 hour days are killing my feet, anyone have some recommendations?

I have to be on my feet 14 hours a day. By the end of the day my feet are killing me. I got fitted for shoes that help more but at night I limp and tiptoe around because the pain is so bad. Even in the morning I get sharp pains on the bottom of my feet. I've tried elevating them at night and epsom salt baths. I stand on concrete all day. Anyone have the same situation and found something that works for them?

We have a whole bag of jalapeno hush-puppies and aren't to found of them. I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for a casserole or a simple meal that I could use them in. I thought about using them as bread crumbs for chicken/fish but I don't know if the batter would stay on. Thanks in advance!

  • If they police don't respond to a complaint what's the next step to take.?

I know police officers have alot more to do than deal with petty neighbor complaints but when a neighbor crosses the line and won't respect others right to peace and quiet, What do you do when the police won't stop or even show up to address the violator.

Over the past 3 months I have called the desk sergeant not 911 to complain about the neighbors leaving their dog barking for hours and for blasting their stereo outside after 11:00 p.m. I have young kids that need sleep as do I and I pay too high of taxes to put up with this garbage. I've confronted the neighbors and they don't care and continue to do this at least twice a week. I've looked up the complaints on there address and nothing shows up. Nor does the activity stop even after 3 or more calls per incident. Who should I contact next? The way our houses face my front neighbors think it's my dog and music and I've had to bring them to my backyard to show it was behind me. At least 5 other families have complained as well.

  • Can I substitute cake flour for all purpose flour?

  • How soon do I need to insure a new car.?

We are going to purchase a car next Sunday from a private party. How soon do I need to get coverage on it? I already have coverage on my other cars. I'm just worried if it gets stolen/damaged before I can get it covered. We aren't 100% sure we want the vehicle so I don't want to cover something that's not in our name yet. Would it still be covered by the previous owner for awhile? Thanks in Advance!

  • Don't you think it's time for Disney to have a black princess?

My three yr old asked me why aren't there any princesses that look like her friend. Which made me wonder as well. Being that these are fairy tells and they are make believe why hasn't Disney made a black princess feature. It seems that is the only race to be missing. With their it's a small world approach how could individuals contact Disney to push this issue forward.

  • How much homework is too much?

I have an 8 yr old who has 3 Math, 3 reading/Lang. Arts and 2 Spelling assignments to turn in every Friday on top of spelling quizzes every Thursday. It takes her about 2 hours a night to complete. She is extremely smart(honor role) and knows her stuff but she is exhausted. On top of it all she has a book report due on Halloween. I've mentioned to the teacher that all she does is schoolwork and can't enjoy extra stuff like riding her bike because there is not enough time in the day for her to complete all of this. Her response was this is third grade and they have more responsibilities(well Duh), But this is extreme! Should I talk to the principal and question why they don't complete more during school hours? Or is this amount common for third graders?
